EVENT RULES
What is FiC?
Fire in Charge (along with FoL/RoL) is strictly forbidden on this event, so we will make it clear what
admins consider slayable FiC. Of course this does not apply to units which are under some conditions
allowed to FiC/FoL/RoL (currently only artillery guard near cannon or fort).
No member of your unit may fire if:
- At least one member of your unit is in some sort of melee
(facing an enemy, performing melee animation or just maneuvering) - At least two members of your unit are clearly in melee mode
(performing melee animation with enemies anywhere near) - Your unit is on the move towards enemies
General rules
- No chat spam and excessive insults.
- No damaging or hindering regiments and players in your team on purpose.
- Maximum number of members for all specialist units is 15, if you have more consult admins.
- No ramboing, if less than 3 and not in melee you must retreat towards a friendly line,
and may only fight in self defence. - No firing in charge, no reloading in charge.
- No firing or reloading out of formation, 3 is minimum to make a formation.
- Formation must be a stationary straight line, any other formation can only melee.
- So firing out of a blob or anti-cav formation is FiC (unless skirms).
- And firing out of a line that is moving is FiC (all classes).
- Line infantry may not crouch during shootout.
- No climbing on rocks and other objects.
- You may join another line only if your line is down to less than 3 men,
and then you must follow same rules as the class of the line you joined. - No officer aim, unless the officer has a musket or is in charge, or at middle of line.
- Only officer class is considered an officer.
- Officer may fire and reload pistol in charge, unless during allcharge.
- During allcharge, everyone may only use melee weapons.
- Please leave any prolongued arguments with admins for after the event.
Light and rifle rules
- May be in skirmish formation of up to 5 men spacing.
- May officer aim.
- May crouch during shootout.
- May not pickup different type of firearm than one you spawn with.
Cavalry rules
- No mixing of cavalry classes within same company.
- If dismounted in a fight, may only fight in same engagement, or defend yourself,
otherwise immediately retreat to a friendly line or towards available horse. - If less than 3 while in a fight, you may continue fighting in 20 men radius,
until there are no more enemies in that radius. - If less than 3 while in a fight with cavalry, may pursue the same cavalry
without attacking other regiments, and you may defend yourself from other cavalry. - If less than 3 in any other case, you must retreat to a friendly line and dismount.
- Dragoons may fire from horseback only in a stationary straight line formation.
- During allcharge, cavalry must dismount,
if more than 10 men have died that round in total.
Artillery rules
- Artillery projectiles may officer aim.
- One sapper per artillery company.
- Lone artillery guard may fire and reload anywhere within 10 men spacing of cannons or fort.
- Lone artillery guard may melee anywhere within 10 men spacing of cannons or fort.
- For above rules to apply, the fort must be built within 10 men spacing from cannons.
- For any other type of engagement, artillery guards must form or join a proper line,
and same rules as for line infantry apply. - Admin word is final on types of and number of artillery pieces allowed.
Regimental leaders guidelines
- Please discourage any rule breaking among your men.
- Feel free to complain to admins, but if there is a need for any
prolonged discussion, please leave it for after the event is over. - If you must cancel your regiment's attendance for one event or permanently,
please let the head admins know as soon as possible.

About a week ago we hosted the first Ve Wednesday LB. We will try to improve as you suggested, but in all in all the first event last week went well.
In the meantime, 2eRD has joined with a 37e line infantry to form the Xe division, so congrats and welcome the 37e line to the event. Also nr21 has renamed into 35th (Royal Sussex) Regiment of Foot and will continue playing artillery each 2nd week. Exciting times we live in.

Inspired by the success of our Ve Wednesday LB Literary Contest (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=44130.msg2023500#msg2023500), we have decided to squeeze out your creative juices once more, this time choosing a format more popular among the troops.
While skimming through a Spring issue of the Christian Observer periodical, one article has caught the attention of the event management staff. In it, we have learnt that the youth nowadays loves indulging in these devilish pastimes called "meming" and "meme-making". Needless to say, it has immediately occurred to us that patronizing such activities in form of a contest could bring smiles to weary faces of the lads on both sides of the field, and help them forget about the harsh conditions of the Wednesday Front, at least for a little while.
So without further ado, we would like to announce the start of theVe Wednesday LB Meme Contest
And it wouldn't be a good contest if it didn't had a set of rules, so let us clear that out of the way right here
General Rules
1. The theme of the contest is the Ve Wednesday LB, so your work must be somehow related to the event, or to the attending regiments.
2. Only members of the regiments signed up for weekly attendance are allowed to submit their work.
3. Each individual may submit up to 3 (three) memes and no more than that.
4. Seeing how your entries will end up published on this forum thread, we strongly suggest you avoid submitting any NSFW material, racial and other intolerance, or anything that goes against the FSE forum rules, lest you may end up disqualified.
5. Please avoid submitting work that insults other regiments in a distasteful way, especially the regiments that you are not on friendly terms with. Such works may earn you a low score in the best case.
Rating Process
While we would love to have the winner decided by a popular vote, such a thing cannot be organized without everyone trying to rig it, or be subject to regimental bias. Therefore we will employ a jury again, made mostly of event admins.
As in the previous competition, members of the jury will hide their decisions from each other until the end of the contest, in order to avoid affecting each other or knowing who might be the winner.
However this time we won't be rating multiple categories but only the general impression, and your score will be average of ratings given by all the jury members. Rates will be in 1-10 format.
The Prize
The biggest award for all the contestants will be the act of taking part in itself, as we are doing all this to have some fun. However, there will also be modest monetary awards for your Steam Wallets, for 1st and 2nd place. Prize for 1st place will be double the amount of prize of the previous contest.
Submission Rules
There is only one way to send us valid submissions, which is by posting on this thread using the template below. Works sent in any other way will be ignored, as we do not have resources to handle administrative tasks of storing and labeling your material.
If you do not have an FSE account, either make one or have someone else post it. If possible, it would be convenient if your officers (who have an FSE account) gather your submissions and post as many as possible in one go, to avoid spamming the forum.
Submission deadline is one week from now, ending on the noon of the 6th May.

One Year Anniversary
this Wednesday!
Yes, one year ago we have decided to provide the community with a classical linebattle that will uphold all the administration standards and good practices that we as NW players with years of experience wished to see more of, and to stick to them with continuity.
We had ups and downs, with player count on some days ranging from crap to more than a hundred per team, while all the time doing our best to keep the event enjoyable for line infantry regiments, those pillars of a proper linebattle experience may God bless you. We mark the event's one year anniversary in good health and steady attendance of a friendly group of regiments who are all good and noble chaps, many thanks to you all for staying with us.

As regular attenders know, we wanted to do something special this Wednesday, therefore for the past week we have been running a poll among the attending regiments' officers to decide which two special scenarios will be played at the start of the event, and here are the two most popular results:

In the meantime, we had a poll among event regiments concerning the artillery, and most voted that the even is more fun without artillery, most of whom voted that arty should be brought back after the event grows back a bit more.
So this is currently a no-arty event. For this reason, we can only accept artillery applications that are part of combo artillery + full line application.
