Sweet Dixieland Army

Army Steam Group

We have two Steam Groups for members of the Dixieland Army. Our regular group is for all our members and located here (https://steamcommunity.com/groups/dixiesoldiers) whilst our officers are invited to the Officers Group.
Both groups have up to date calenders with our events so you need never miss out because you forgot! We also detail any competitions and prize winners there as well as general Army Information.
Membership is not mandatory but it is encouraged!

We would like to welcome the addition of the Brigade System and offer congratulations to Brigadier General Reznov and Brevret Brigadier General Chadric.

We are however sorry to also add a Black List of persons who are banned from Dixieland Army and Union Army servers for both games and teamspeak.

I shall be adding details of individual Brigade and Regimental schedule which are open to participation from other units and/or soldiers of the army.

For instance the 26th NC have a few Blood and Iron events over the weekend that are open to others (including EU players who are up late ;-) ) and are hoping to host their own NaS LB soon.

Also we may be starting a new LB during the week open to both EU and those NA players who are about 3pm EST.

More details later this week on this all!

Just a reminder, this Saturday there will be an important officer's meeting regarding our end of 2014 schedule and dates of the AGM of the Dixieland Army and Dixieland Army Executive Committee.
As usual, all officers to be present at the officer's meeting if possible, if unable the High Command will pick a representative from the highest rank of the regiment in the channel!

Regarding the AGM:
All members of the DA and its Brigades and Regiments are encouraged to attend.
All regiments are asked to send at least one command officer as their representative.
All Donators will receive personal invitations.
The AGM will have an agenda to go through. The Final Agenda will be published the day of the AGM.
There will be a number of votes including Executive Committee positions, financial arrangements, all of our rules & constitution and our policies.
There will be a number of news briefings regarding various people and organisations and our plans for things. Including War of Rights, Battlecry of Freedom, the Media Team, North and South and High Water Mark.

We are pleased to announce our Winter Schedule!

29th November - Army Line Battle: Back by popular demand! Two huge lines and a few skirmish lines will fight it out! Expect Flags, Expect Musicians! Except strange bayonet charges that make no sense!
6th December - Normal Line Battle
13th December - DA Bi-Monthly Mod Event: And this time its the War of 1812! Relive the burning of the Whitehouse as a Proud Redcoat, or watch in despair as a rebellious colonial!

14th December - DA AGM: An annual event, except this time better organised and with a Medal and Award Ceremony to end 2014. Also some prizes will be given out!

15th December - Official Start of the Holiday: The next two week's our troops and officers get to enjoy some downtime.... if they want to. Officially the next two Saturday linebattles are not the regular events we have every week. Being either side of Christmas we let people have a small break! However there WILL still be some sort of events running. Details given out closer to the dates.

20th December - Winter Linebattle

27th December - Winter Linebattle

3rd January - Welcome Back! The army reforms for the new year and we kick off 2015 with a normal linebattle of a winter theme!

10th January - Our 1 Year Rebirth Anniversary! Its 1 year since the rebirth of the DA following the Traitor Mastershot's heinous actions. Expect a small parade and a large Firing Squad for the execution of High Command who are standing in for the traitor!

11th January - The Fourth High Command Election Vote - Another term for our High Command is over so its time for the voting!

24th January - Normal linebattle.

31st January - Normal linebattle.

Due to sabotaging the Teamspeak, the 18th South Carolina have been kicked out of the army and its Colonel Harry has been permanently banned from all our events and servers.

Attempting to do a "Mastershot" on someone else's orders will never work.

Due to more cases of trolling by the 3rd KY, we will be taking the unfortunate step of now banning the regiment from our servers when we notice them and banning them from signing up to our events.

I do not take this position lightly, but as they continue to harass us, action must be taken. They have forced our hand.

Ouch! The one I was on before I chose not to take an upgrade was the same as I get now except 500 minutes. For £32 a month for my iPhone 4S. I really like not paying that much anymore, and my 4S suits me just fine still. When it breaks, I might then take an upgrade.

Due to the 23rd NC regiment sniping, we again are forced to take punishment:
All Army of Kentucky personnel and regiments who are found to be regiment sniping will be immediately permenantely banned from all DA servers and events.

Since Franz von Stryker has joined the 23rd NC as a NCO when I would not give him a promotion to 1st Sergeant after a week, he is permenantely banned from all DA servers and regiments.
Furthermore, since he tried to buy a commission by offering money for rank, this ban will not be appeal able.

I am shocked at the continued actions taken against the Dixieland Army who have done nothing. For shame.

Due to DDoS attempts against our friends in NW, we will be updating our Teamspeak security and rules.

Please make sure that when you connect to the Teamspeak, you include your regiment tags. IE "Phillip" becomes "27th VA Phillip". All those without some sort of identification will be challenged at random, those who fail will be asked to leave the teamspeak. People who act suspicious or intentionally mislead may be banned.


Due to the amount of new regiments, we will also be wiping our DA Officers Group. From now on for both the Officers and the Soldiers group:
Executive Committee will invite the High Command upon election results.
Brigadier Generals will invite their Colonels.
Colonels will invite their Officers/Members (for Officers/Soldiers Group).

This helps everyone make it a simple process and keeps everyone up to date!

Okay, so since the 9th TX have decided to rejoin us after less than 24 hours of joining the Army of Kentucky, we now have reports of Musickman hiring a group called FireHazard Community to DDoS the DA teamspeak and servers. Though we have no concrete evidence apart from witness statements, these will be provided to the British Police and the American Police due to the nature of the crime, who we investigate further.

Anyone who has information and can help with the investigation, please contact me right away so I can give you the Open Case number and the contact links to add to the report.

Also, we welcome the rejoining of the 9th Texas Artillery who are under strict probation. The High Command will be debating a new policy regarding the leaving and rejoining of regiments who has left and joined a hostile group.

I am doing ok thank you. We all sang a rendition of Auld Lang Syne as usual haha. Sadly I forgot to record it!!!

Tonight was a brilliant last night of the High Command of the 3rd Election. Tomorrow is our 4th Election for our High Command!
I have been Lieutenant General for three consecutive terms and in accordance with the rules, will be stepping down from the Office of Lieutenant General for at least one term. Chadric has been Brigadier General for three consecutive terms as well and will also be stepping down from his office.

Results of the 4th High Command Election!

The new Lieutenant General of the Dixieland Army is Chadric of the 26th North Carolina.
The new Brigadier General of the Old Brigade is Jannik of the 15th Alabama.
The new Brigadier General of the Braggs Brigade is Hardcase of the 8th Alabama.
The new Brigadier General of the New Union Brigade is Museal of the 1st Warsaw Militia.

Lieutenant General Chadric's first promotion is of Brigadier General Jannik to Major General.

Congratulations and may the 4th High Command have a peaceful and victorious term!

Just seen this, yes they played NaS way before we asked them to join the ANV. If you could inform this DA 18thGA about it that'd be cool.  8)
