Speaking as an artillery captain I would say there is very little I would add to this.
What I would add is that Artillery (even with guards) is extremely vulnerable to cavalry, I like to have my sapper construct defenses in a sort of wagon train style cage with two exits with guards pointing their pointing their bayonets out. This has increased our survivability ten-fold, if the cav members dismount to destroy the your choice of defense he is asking for a musket shot. Bear in mind though this is only advisable if you have a line coming to your aid because eventually cavalry can work their way into the cage. Then its up to your melee capabilities

I fully agree with you mate.

To slow down cavalry we tend to place the artillery horses to the sides of the cannon while the sapper focus's his attention to the front and back.

Wow, very helpful, I would love it if there was a little more information on each type of artillery firing unit and what is best used for and a little background on each or something like that but beside that its very good and informative.
