So about that Chocolate?

In all seriousness, it's kind of human nature to go off onto tangents.

I feel that this thread is made for me.

Seriously, people just grasp any opportunity to push forward their own ideas, interests or thoughts. I'm 100% guilty of that too, by the way.

Teenagers? Im pretty sure thats why.

U wot m8? My parents' lawyer is gonna talk to you!

Teenagers? I'm pretty sure that's why.

Past that stage by now, but it was a decent guess. If you speak about the German's and their issues on national pride etc, it was fair game to discuss WW1 and the national trauma that it caused and the things that followed because of it.

I think it's just the moderators being very jumpy and afraid of anything political, really. And they are probably right, this isn't the forum to discuss these kind of things.

Who knows? The best reason I can give you is that this is the internet and an anonymous individual rarely has incentive to stay on topic.

Personally, I think some folks get pleasure from derailing threads. :(

Pff, my father's a banker :P

But yeah, I'll admit to going off topic also. I just can't avoid a good debate. Sorry about your thread man :/

But we weren't off topic, I mean WWI is one of the reasons why people dislike German nationalism.

It is, at the other hand, not the place to make wild assumptions concerning alternative history. Which is entirely off-topic and something you did.

I agree that it was partly on topic but that was not the only thing that went off topic. So yeah, it's shite that one can't stay on topic to get actual results.

I think it's just the moderators being very jumpy and afraid of anything political, really. And they are probably right, this isn't the forum to discuss these kind of things.
Well this one of the few ways I can get in contact with people from other countries without giving up much of my privacy so why not? It's called off topic for a reason.

I posed a simple question, and nothing more. I'm quite sure you discussing belgian chocolate was very on-topic aswell.

I think people can't stay on topic because most actual real life discussions change pace quickly.

It's sort of a trend that any thread Wismar or Tibbert march in gets turned into a off-topic political-discussion-party, which then get locked before they turn into a 'Hitler-wasn't-that-bad'-discussion.

Oh dear, direct personal 'insults'! Someone, get the admins  :P

True, but it was a friendly joke that was recognized as being a joke, which is acceptable as long as it keeps to one post, which it did.

Well I actually just posted this thread to thank all the people who made serious answers on my last thread. And to say to the others who derailed it: Thanks for nothing :D

Going to lock this now.
