▶ 22nd 'Cheshire' Regiment of Foot [EU] ◀
« on: September 20, 2013, 04:28:31 pm »

Introduction

The 22nd regiment of foot is one of the longest regiments to be around since the game came out reaching over 100 members in its life spam and still growing, the 22nd foot detachment is commanded by Colonel Murphy, the founder and donator of the regiment. The Foot guard is commanded by Major Emile Heskey. Lastly the artillery detachment is commanded by Captain Benny.

In 1689, Henry, Duke of Norfolk, raised a regiment on the little Roodee at Chester, in an effort to resist any attempt by James II to re-take the English throne. For the early part of its formation, the regiment was known by the name of the current Colonel-in-Chief, later becoming known as the 22nd Regiment of Foot. In the same year that it was raised, the regiment saw its first action as part of a British force sent to Ireland under the command of General Frederick Schomberg, 1st Duke of Schomberg, taking part in the siege and capture of Carrickfergus. In 1690, the 22nd fought in the Battle of Boyne, and in 1691 at the Battle of Aughrim. The regiment continued to serve as a garrison in Ireland from this point until 1695, when it was sent to the Low Countries for a short time before returning to its duties in Ireland.

Information:
“Marching regiments” or “line battalions” make up the majority of units in European-style armies. They are so called because they form the line of battle, not because they always deploy in lines. Indeed, over time the capabilities of line infantry should improve as new tactics, drill and weaponry are developed. These soldiers carry muzzle-loading, smooth-bore muskets firing lead balls as wide as a man’s thumb. These are inaccurate weapons, effective only over 200 paces or so and when fired in massed volleys. The ability to fire and reload with machine-like regularity with shot and bullet flying and comrades falling all around is what wins battles.
sis of modern military units.

Foot Guard:

Information:
These troops are equipped in much the same way as line infantrymen, and carry smoothbore muskets as their primary weapons. There, however, the similarities end. Their uniforms are altogether more splendid, marking them out as a superior force, in arrogance if nothing else. This attitude can serve them well in battle, as the guard can hardly be seen to be cutting and running, no matter how hot the enemy fire. They are also expected to do a good job as garrison troops, keeping the royal family safe no matter what the locals might think or be tempted to do by some foolish revolutionary fervour.

Foot Artillery:

Leader:
https://steamcommunity.com/id/bennyboykills

Information:
Artillerymen march alongside their pieces. All guns are smooth-bore, and rated by the size or weight of solid projectile that they fire: a 12-pounder is so called because it hurls a cannonball weighing 12 pounds towards the enemy! It may not do so very accurately, as the casting of barrels and balls means that there is inevitably a gap (wind-age) between a shot and the barrel sides. This means that a cannonball rattles down the barrel when fired, leading to an inherent inaccuracy. As technology advances, other types of ammunition can be fired.

Famous Soldiers/Teams

Colonel Murphy:
Before the 22nd disbanded for the first time, Murphy was in the regiment as a ranker, young he was and isn’t the same player he was today, Murphy then decided to re-create the legendary 22nd regiment once again paying for the TeamSpeak and servers by himself. One year on Murphy is now the commander and admin of a very skilled bunch of members. And can take many wins from a lot of line battles making him one of the best commanders on the mount and blade community. He doesn’t just perform by commanding, he is also a veteran at the game and is probably one of the best fighters in the regiment and displays this on the battle field giving a maximum boost to the other Rankers, he’s good at organising line battles, and he’s also a genuine nice guy who acts very mature and a real leader of the regiment.

Major Emile Heskey:
Heskey must be the best recruiter in the game at this moment, after recruiting more than half the people in the regiment, his ability to stay calm and always have a laugh is the sort of thing every regiment needs, and how he can act serious in a line battle but have fun before or after shows that he can set an example on the new recruits. Heskey tries to make the regiment better in every way possible by giving out extra training sessions to practise chambering or shooting. He is also a very good fighter and uses every technique to win a duel. Heskey also organises a lot of line battles and does command a few too. Without the likes of Heskey this regiment wouldn’t exist, he is the perfect all round player.

Bakesar:
Bakesar has developed skills in his spin tech methods and also his chambering techniques which are highly ideal for line battles, as he normally comes in the top 3 in regiment and one of the most consistent players, also giving the team a high moral, Bakesar has recruited few people, also is very disciplined and very argumentative which makes him at the highest pecking order for other regiments. He shows that Roy Keane ability about him which makes him the perfect team player.

Brown:
Brown also developing his overall melee skill when join has been an unstoppable force for the 22nd, although he is not as consistent in line battles, he will only need a round to show what he is made of as he is has the record of killing more than anyone else in 1 round for the 22nd. He doesn’t just show his skill in the line battles, as he is aggressive on team speak which has a lot of influence on the new and even older members in the 22nd. As he gets into more arguments, brown usual comes out as being right and has become Murphy’s right hand man along with Major Heskey, brown is regarded as the best all round player, even by murphy himself as, he  can give orders, command, fight, and shoot.

Firecard:
In the summer term, colonel Murphy was lucky enough to sign the great Firecard from the 94th also on a free transfer, all 3 of these players only live a few 100 meters away from each other in real life, which gives them the mass team work boost which every regiment dreams of having, as Firecard is one of the greatest commanders the 22nd has ever witnessed, also on the same level of fighting as Bakesar which is a high standard.

The Wilmslow Boys:
On a day in February, Colonel Murphy signed a done deal, for the duo from the Wilmslow, of Lance corporal Brown and Kingsman Bakesar on free transfer, and what a signing it what! As the 6e young guard was due to disband, murphy was quick to sign them in the 22nd regiment of foot. Brown and Bakesar with good chemistry have single handled won line battles for the 22nd regiment and without them; they won’t be where they are today. With the melee skills rough, they had received proper training in the 22nd and are now some of the best in this regiment. Clocking over 12 kills in just 1 round for Brown, as bakesar is more consistent by getting a few kills in most rounds, the pair have been very loyal and have stuck with the regiment for around 6/8 months. These 3 heroes are undoubtedly some of the best regiments have ever seen and if they stick together in the future, no regiment will be able to hold the wrath of them.

Famous Quotes

Murphy:
“The combination between Brown and Bakesar is out of this world”.

Heskey:
“the three people I would promote are Bakesar, Brown and Firecard, because of how loyal they have been”.

Tony:
“ they are a laugh to have in the regiment, very serious in line battles but can also say funny puns”.

K-KA Norseman:
“very good players, maybe one day, there melee skills could be better than mine”.

90th Crisp:
“if they had followed Van Halen, they would be in our regiment now!”.

Jose Mourinho:
“Murphy has that style that Sir Alex Ferguson has, a very good commander and loyal”.

22nd Bakesar:
Heskey is a very nice guy and very funny and very easy to be friends with, a very overall player.
