Tbh I think matchmaking contributed more to the improvement. I’ve heard from a few L2 players that they didn’t like it or gain anything, and that it is more helpful for them to be able to play with the L1 players and learn from them. Not sure what the majority think though
Sure maybe they want to play against L1 players, but if it's a draft league most L2 quality players (no offense) will not be given that opportunity. Captains are only going to play starters (aka their best players, not subs/L2 players) and we have seen that time and time again. This league served as a chance for all players to play more and compete compared to previous draft leagues. I highly doubt they would be happier to be just sitting on the bench as usual and rotate in and out of scrims every so often, just to play against L1 players.
I only signed up for this league because I knew this was the only way I would ever get to experience playing time in a draft league, even if it was league 2 I enjoyed it and thought there was weight to the matches. Also, I think matchmaking is a far worse form of practice than playing in league 2 matches were, but I have not played a single game of matchmaking in over year so IDK. To me it really only warmed up mechanics, but I felt I learned way more from actually playing in a semi-serious team format. Thanks for giving me a chance to actually play the game Risk!

Just has more dudes actually caring about competitive. League 2 in the grand scheme of things means absolutely nothing. It’s just about getting other people involved. There’s been players who haven’t ever gotten playing time in any draft league that are actually getting to participate, which is good for player retention. Actually having played in league 2 it is fun to work with people I haven’t before and played against teams that you’d normally never see.

Not sure what the majority think thoughI mean frankly the league 2 product sucked in terms of groupfighting - but unlike previous seasons players actually got to play in competitive groupfights that weren’t meaningless MM. maybe the MM was most beneficial for skill but I think league 2 was huge for understanding structure and playmaking
damn i was literally gonna say that u stole the post right out from under me
but the biggest gripe was the whole ft10 why not just make it ft 15
I thought L2 was a lot better. Having only played two leagues (this one included), I had a lot more fun being able to play with players comparable to my skill level, who I was able to build an understanding with, who wouldn't rage at not being a god at the game. Likewise, it was nice being able to fight against people who aren't gods at the game either. While part of improving is fighting players that are better than you, I don't think Death, Ben, and I would have learned much playing against Cwater, Anthony, and Oatmeal.
MM is also a good way to improve, but it's also a pretty selfish environment on a teamplay level, and it's also toxic as fuck, which (at least my) draft team was anything but.
In regards to Jedimasters L2 team, it was a really fun team to be apart of with Winters, Achilles, Levis, CommanderDeath, VHA, Ben, and WiFi Bills. Tough way to go out but overall all those players grinded their asses off and I’m glad I was able to play with them. Plus, I enjoyed playing with the L1 gamers as well during scrims. BabyJ, Jaax, Gavin, Red Viper, Vlad, and Camden were great teammates. Once again thanks for hosting Risk. I think the L2 concept was a great addition and provided a lot of us that don’t regularly play a chance to play. Good luck to the remaining teams!
What tie breaker? BB_G has more map wins than Jedi?how tf does that work
Jedi Masters have the tiebreaker win over BB_G
how tf does that work
bruh why u making us play during superbowl weekend?
PlayoffsCongratulations to our Season 2 teams that have advanced to the playoffs for League 1: Convicted Hatecrimer and Friends, BoomerBus Gaming, GVT and Jedi Masters! Good luck to all the teams as the winners will advance to the finals.
Semifinals matches must be completed by Feburary 13th for both leagues.* Home team for ban/pick phase is decided by who has a higher seeding. Please keep in mind it is superbowl weekend so please remember that when scheduling.
*A similar post for League 2 is coming once the final matches are played. As mentioned previously, the final League 2 matches must be completed by Wednesday. Once the League 2 bracket is finalized, the semifinals for League 2 playoffs must also be done by the 13th.
We have the tiebreaker cuz we beat them in the regular seasonedit its been explained to me that the tiebreak system goes map wins, then tiebreak, which makes everything line up
