Modifying Artillery Crosshairs
« on: November 11, 2012, 05:26:49 pm »
Hello,

I'd like to make a custom crosshair for the artillery, instead of the basic odd "reversed triangle", but I can't find the file in the Napoleonic wars folder.

Can anybody show me which on it is ?

Thanks  :)

PS: I see the reticle for shooting is in ui_gadgets.dds, but the artillery reticle isn't :-(

You should be ready to modify a .dds file, and last time I tried doing that in MM, well, lets just say that the crosshair doesn't appear on Photoshop like it does ingame ^^

Is this allowed though?
I can think of several Crosshair designs that would make aiming easier.

A bit off topic, but does anyone know of a mod to replace the old death animations with new ones?
I had seen it in a video once, and I had thought "The original ones are terrible, I want to replace them".
Any info on this would be appreciated.

Aiming is already stupidly easy, If I could be bothered I would go and make it transparent so that I at least had a bit of a challenge

Okay,

Well actually I just found the reticle is hard-coded in the source code, maybe you can edit presentation.txt

Mortars and howitzers are OP as it is.

Mortars are not OP though, all you gotta do is move because it takes around 23 seconds to land

Honestly I use mortars all the time. I love them
