What exactly would be the point of organising it in such a way that a weaker team got to the final stage? Not only would that make the tourney pointless but it would completely devalue winning the thing and would result in at some point them being railed by a much stronger team
Its Not garantueeing anything, its just giving more equal chances overall, the individual advantage of a Team in a Match stays the same.
It's pretty obvious that there's a clear quality divide between many of the teams, padding the tournament so that lower quality teams can go further (and then likely get destroyed further on in the tournament,) simply results in the teams that should have been in their spot getting eliminated by the strong teams earlier on.
I'm not even complaining about how strong group B is in regards to being worried to play them, infact I believe that it will assist in GB getting further in the competition with 3 of the strongest teams playing in one group (therefore meaning we won't have to play them in the knockout first round). However I think that when Germany has to play CIS (for example) in the first knockout round, and one of the strongest national teams gets insta knocked out early on, you will regret this decision.
