I don't know how historically accurate this is, but I adore the 43rd Officer

He's wearing the stovepipe shako, so it's definitely pre-1812, but definitely Napoleonic.

Actually the 43rd wore stovepipes at Waterloo (they missed the battle though), most light infantry did (although the re-enactment group for the 2/95th, who we sometimes fight alongside, have Belgics). Probably been mentioned, but the 28th had Stovepipes despite being a line regiment, they had the sphinx emblem affixed to the back.

English civil war? Oh you're right, I didn't spot the matchlock behind them at first. The again, Scottish clothing remains largely the same for a long while.

This shows a picture of Polish Lancers. Can't find anything beyond that, sorry. Also, I apologise for the copyright. The rankers are in the background and the officer is in the foreground. He is most likely speaking to a hunter, he looks like one and he has dogs.

Hard to decide the best, there is so many classy looking uniforms back then.

I must say Swedes had damn fine uniforms back then, the main color of the uniforms for infantry was either blue or grey. Finnish regiments commonly used grey (except Österbottens and some other which had same as Swedish ones). The hats make you look like a true gentleman.

(No personal bias, I swear)

I must also say that I also love what Dutch and Nassau light infantry had in 1815. I love green color in the uniforms.
