W-w-we're f-freezing up h-here and are in need of s-s-some back up! What was supposed to be a nice w-walk over the Italian Alps is about to turn into a blood bath! Our s-sc-outs have confirmed an enemy encampment. T-thats not the bbbbad news! That mountain is our only clear passage over! I-if we don't claim it then we'll be looking at a 2 week trip around a razor rock sea! T-thi-sss siege will require s-skills unlike any n-normal siege! The enemy could be a-n-ny wh-e-ere! And just getting to the bastard w-will take all you got! But don't chicken o-out yet! Intel from our s-scout tells us that they have little re-ee-enforcements compared to our army... We sent h-him out on another run b-but he crashed so they know we are coming! Let-t's hope what he saw the first time didn't change. S-so join-n us on this frozen hell soon because I-I-I can't seem to feel my f-feet!
This time we are trying to recreate the great Alps like much of the Italians and Austrians would have faced during the World War. The map will be a siege upon the highest mountain but there is no one define path meaning that there are many ways you can assault or defend. The map will be trying to highlight the difficulties many soldiers had upon the Alps but this meant taking you away from a normal siege map. Remember although very beautiful it can be easy for you to lose sight of your target, or even fall of the path. I have also took advice from last time and this map runs at a constant 100fps on my really crappy lap top so there will be no lag for you to complain about!
How the game will work (please read) :The defenders will be defending a large mountain top camp with only quickly made defences. This means it is advisable for every regiment to take a few engineers. They will then be given 5 minuets to spread out in any way they like as long as there is at least a minimum 3 people in that squad. The defenders will only have 2 lives each so make sure you use the environment, the small squad size and the long distance from the attackers spawn to your advantage! There will only be one round! This round will be 45 minuets (this allows you to take into account the extra 5 min for the defenders) as the major enemy for both sides is the environment, don't expect man made buildings to help you in a place nobody has set foot in for hundreds of years! if you find all this too difficult then you should try actually doing it in real life! These events are here to simulate the reality of the war as well as to create a unique fun game play for Iron Europe that NW never had.
Major Rules!
- There is only one round.
- The attackers must give the defenders 5 minuets to get ready.
- The defending side is allowed to hide in anyway or place they see fit ( but not the attackers base)
- The defending side is allowed to move in squads of 3 people minimum. If one member dies the two remaining people can act as a squad until the dead member comes back.
- The attackers must start in squads of 5 people.
- The attackers must stay together. They are allowed to keep acting as a full squad however if members die. After the first wave they are allowed to move out in squads of 4 players
- Players must move in squads unless their squad is destroyed then the single player must find another squad, move back to base or hold up position. This rule does not count if the player is in the defenders main base.
Important Final Stage Rule!
- The assault on the flag once you are in the base does not require you to be in squads (it's entirely up to your commander) as you may need to take the flag with only one or two people alive.

*Please remember that this is the first time we will be using this map and these rules. The units have been balanced for fun game play but also historical accuracy of the battle. The map will be small with only a 50 player cap but this and rules might change if the event works well or things need changing. *
The event will take place at 9PM GMT on Saturday. Sign ups on our TS/steam will be at 8:30pm GMT to finalise numbers and allow us to balance or accept more regiments.
