The 84th Royal Highland Emigrants continued to make its presence known in the North American Napoleonic Wars community in 2021. This post will be outlining the year of the 84th from it’s absolute beginning to the end of the year of 2021 and how our glorious regiment has grown.

Napoleonic Wars Spring League (January-March 2021)

After our successful North American Premier League campaign, the 84th set its sights on the Napoleonic Wars Spring League. On the casual side, the regiment saw it’s highest attendance of 27 people on January 27th, 2021. An old member of the regiment rejoined with Fireboy (mall cop) coming home to the 084. The regiment also saw some legends join amongst the ranks: KingRich (disappeared but returned), Colonel Sanders (mute), and Primor (ex-61e goon). In the Napoleonic Wars Spring League, the regiment had a successful start defeating the 41e, LIR, and the 1KL. However, the regiment suffered its first ever 1v1 loss against the 21st. The 84th finished with a second place finish behind the Nr49 to take home the silver trophy. After the conclusion of the Napoleonic Wars Spring League, the 84th began working on main projects such as the Super Secret Mod Pack (thanks Daniel!). The 84th continued to grow with weekly arty parties and multiple casual events a week. Lastly, the regiment saw the acquisition of the man himself, the Tribal Chief, RussianFury.

Fighting on Two Fronts + One Year Later(March-July 2021)

After coming up short in the Napoleonic Wars Spring League, the 84th was invited to take part in the second season of the Napoleonic Wars Pro Cup. With the community split on what type of regimental competitive league should be created next, Lieutenant Hawkince made the Regimental League of Groupfighting. As a result, we saw the acquisition of Anthony, Cwater, Piktonss, and Achilles into the Grenadiers. The 84th took part in both competitions. The 84th topped the group in the Napoleonic Wars Pro Cup after demolishing the 24th, and making a comeback against the 18e after a 4-0 start, winning in a 6-4 fashion. Unfortunately, the 84th was defeated in the semi-finals against the 1tes in a 6-4 fashion. The 84th wraps up the Napoleonic Wars Pro Cup with a third place finish after a 6-4 victory over the 8th. In the Regimental League of Groupfighting, the 84th finishes second in the group after beating the 21st in both meetings, but losing to the 98e in both meetings. The 84th is paired against the 21st in the playoffs, but advances by forfeit. After weeks of delay, the 84th and the 98e finally meet for the Regimental League of Groupfighting final, with the 84th defeating the 98e 20-18 to take a second title in North America.

On our casual side, the 84th continued to do artillery parties. The regiment saw the addition of twitch streamer, TheMeritTM as well as a crony of hers, Curtis_ws (simp). Also, the regiment saw the acquisition of some regimental heroes such as: BigSoulja (crank dat), Tired_Jake (Community Rep), Galvik (noob killer), Boston (USMC legend), WiFi Bills (another holdass player), Gregor (USMC New Zealand legend, Hunteh killer), Thingy (sexy voice), and Zhang_He (young legend). The regiment saw itself bring it’s highest attendance twice at 30 on April 17, 2021 (thanks Maskman) and June 11, 2021. Leading up to the one year formation on June 6th, Dan the Chef put together the 84th’s International Sports and Culture Festival for Peace which included an olympic type event and many other mini-games. After a year, the regiment saw an acquisition of a brand new NCO in Fireboy.

Cyber Gang Warfare(August 2021-November 2021)

After bringing home the Regimental League of Groupfighting title, the 84th has seen itself consistently groupfighting regiments such as the 25y, 3e, and 93rd. The 84th was in a Holdfast arms race against the 3e, fighting to recruit the best Holdfast players that were converting into the NW scene. In this rivalry, the 84th were labeled as the Bloods and the 3e were labeled as the Crips. On the week of August 9th, 2021, Dan the Chef hosted a regimental spirit week to celebrate the regiment. On September 4th, 2021, Fireboy was promoted to Serjeant Major. The regiment has seen it acquire new players such as: Cake (leave the 6teSLR already), Anyelo (Mexican legend), iuff (big buff Swedish man), Juanshot_Lenshanks (fighting connoisseur), Anna (Catalan queen), Sticky (Irish legend of Prime Rohan Yatts), Saitama (German legend of Prime Rohan Yatts), and Krembit (Riflemonke, 1stOJD legend).

Part of the Journey is the End?(November 20, 2021-December 2021)

Jolly got a job, RussianFury does not want to run the regiment, Dan is just on Booba, Fireboy is protecting the malls 24/7, Hawkince is becoming a professional wrestler, and Glenn finally got a job. The 84th had a good run. However, the regiment wanted to continue with only one event a week. The regiment began looking for new NCOs. Yoloswag was appointed Lieutenant of the Grenadier company. The regiment continued to do groupfights with Stryker and his cronies. On the final week of December, Dan the Chef hosted a Winter Festival that included a 24 hour charity live stream on the 30th of December. The 84th was also nominated for Best North American Regiment in the 2021 NW Awards.

Overview of the Year

2021 for the 84th ended with the regiment getting 1st (Regimental League of Groupfighting), 2nd (Napoleonic Wars Spring League), and 3rd place (Napoleonic Wars Pro Cup) in three different regimental competitions. The 84th continues to go through a transitional period where the regiment may not be at its absolute peak anymore. However, the community continues to be strong and attend one event a week and have occasional groupfights throughout the week! The year concludes with the 84th giving back to charity!

Final Remarks

We would like to thank our lone NCO, Fireboy, for being our biggest critics and contributing your time and energy to making the 84th as great as it is. We would like to thank RussianFury as well for bringing his experience of leading the LG in the past into the 84th. Lastly, we would like to thank Hawkince for continuing to being different! Also, thanks Dan the Chef!

Now to all our members - the BIGGEST thanks goes to you, to all those who we have lost and gained on the way. Without you guys, there would be no 84th. For the amount of times you sacrificed a social life, sleep, or anything just to jump on Teamspeak or Discord to come to an event or even chill out, THANK YOU. We wish we could one by one thank you all individually, but the regiment has seen over 300 players involved with us at one point. The officers and NCOs cannot begin to express the amount of gratitude we have for you individually and for your loyalty and servitude. Thank you all for this great community we have and that YOU have built. 2021 was an amazing year for the 84th Royal Highland Emigrants, and we will continue to be great in 2022..
