The 84th Royal Highland Emigrants somewhat continued to make its presence known in whatever remains in the North American Napoleonic Wars community in 2023. This short post will be outlining the year of the 84th from it’s absolute beginning to the end of the year of 2023 and how our glorious regiment has done.
A New Era (January 2023-March 2023)
The regiment kicks off the new year with two new companies, the Artillery and Skirmisher Companies. With the new companies, the regiment introduced two new Skirmisher NCOs: Amy and Wifi Bills. The NCO core is also joined by a new Artillery NCO in Jamd0dger. With the addition of our new NCOs, we transferred from Teamspeak to Discord and became a Discord regiment. With these weekly events, we are joined by new gamers: Dank Lee (QRR Holdfast legend), cat-dog (defected from the 3e), Pleb (Arty gamer), Platinum (45thN NA who finally found a NA regiment) On March 18th, 2023, Source became Lieutenant of the 84th.

2023 Summer League? (April 2023-July 2023)
The new era of the regiment continues to dominate the North American casual scene with both the Artillery and Skirmishers companies. The regiment continues to shine with old members such as Yovko (Bulgarian king) and Nightwing (German RAT) becoming more active in the scene. The two companies are joined by new additions such as: Luke/Nao (45thN’s camera man), Gabito (Chilean legend), Steven (63e Legend), Yodee (faded than a ho), Pole (Baby GRONK), Rule (Skirmisher Cameraman), and Ernesto and Bondage (USMC cuties). On May 13, 2023, the 84th officially declared itself to play in the 2023 Summer League. With the Summer League on the horizon and Jamd0dger stepping back a little bit, Soulja Boy officially became a NCO on May 20th, 2023 with Amy being promoted to Serjeant. After several weeks of playing in the 2023 Summer League, the League went inactive due to poor management. On June 5th, 2023, the 84th had its 4th Charity stream where the regiment raised $1728 dollars for the Alzheimer's Association. On July 29th, 2023, Jamd0dger was moved up to Serjeant.

Post 2023 Summer League (August 2023-December 2023)
After the failure of the 2023 Summer League, the regiment continued to be in the North American casual scene by going to the Saturday Miami Linebattle. In August and September, the regiment attempted to go to a European North and South event. During this time period the regiment added some new individuals into the fold: goth_girl (the Rizzler), Joren (Dutch legend), and Andrew (edges a lot). On September 9th, 2023, Glenn promoted himself to Major, and Source was promoted to Captain of the regiment. On October 7th, 2023, Wifi Bills was moved up to Serjeant. Afterwards on the 21st of October, Amy was moved up to Lieutenant and Jamd0dger was moved up to Serjeant Major. On December 14th, 2023, Soulja stepped down from his NCO position. On the eve of Christmas, the 84th’s home in the BBG Teamspeak ended as the regiment was booted out of the teamspeak. To end the year, on December 30th, Dan the Chef hosted his 5th edition of the 84th’s Charity Stream and raised over $2100 for National MS Society.

Overview of the Year
The 84th attempted to play mayhaps the final North American 1v1 League over the Summer, but the league did not come to a conclusion. On the casual side, the community continues to be strong and attend one event a week every Saturdays! As usual, the year concludes with the 84th giving back to charity!
End of Year Record (8-0-2)
In total the community has raised $3846.74 for charity this past year.
Now to all our members - the BIGGEST thanks goes to you, to all those who we have lost and gained on the way. Without you guys, there would be no 84th. For the amount of times you sacrificed a social life, sleep, or anything just to jump on Teamspeak or Discord to come to an event or even chill out, THANK YOU. We wish we could one by one thank you all individually, but the community has seen over 400 players involved with us at one point ranging from mercs to members of the community. The officers and NCOs cannot begin to express the amount of gratitude we have for you individually and for your loyalty and servitude. Thank you all for this great community we have and that YOU have built. 2023 was a fantastic year for the 84th Royal Highland Emigrants, and we will continue to be great in 2024, with us or not.Regards,
