I'll be updating this with more info later, but for now:
Huzzah, hooray, cheerio and tally-ho what-what gentlemen of all calibers, you, as you have clicked on this wonderful thread, are most cordially invited to apply your regiment to the 24th Warwickshire's Anglo-Zulu Events. We'll be hosting 2 spiffing times a week, with a constant stream of well-mannered fun, and good fighting all around, what what.
Battle
The Battle event is just as the name implies: a battle.
Depending on the amount of people we get, we'll be playing according CUSTOM maps. I'll be making these maps myself. So far, until I finish my current map, this game mode isn't available yet. *
*For now, we'll be using random maps, or maps that seem appropriate.
Maps that you could expect to see on the horizons of battle are: Rorke's Drift, Isandlawana, The Battle of Gingindlovu, and other fun maps.
The Art of Defense
This is a medium game-mode, and is basically easier to get in.
We'll be hosting either random maps, or maps specially made for bots, which will basically be the brits fighting a bunch of angry zulu warrior fuzzies, oh dear.
The brits, if they win, will have the enemy bot count increased by 5 each time they win. This will continue until they loose 4 times in a row, then they will start to lose bots 10 at a time. This will continue until we're all satisfied.
Bear in mind that we'll typically have some regiment (that volunteers) on the zulu team in order to direct the fighting, and if needed, destroy the barricades. It'll be quite goodly fun.
If you're interested in joining this, here's the time schedule:
RULES ~
This applies to both events:
You may have as many officers as you like, as long as rankers make up the majority of the force.
You may spread out a tad, but do not skirmish along a 2-mile front. There is a difference between taking cover and flanking.
You may designate "Task forces". The 24th uses this a lot in NW & N&S. Basically, you can create a splinter group from your regiment that can go beyond the regimental formation bounds. They must be at least 4-6 guys though.
You may take cover & crouch when needed.
You MUST be in a recognizable grouping to not be considered ramboing.
CAVALRY
Cav must stay together.
If there is a lone cavalryman running around, god shall smite thee with a rocket launcher.
OVERVIEW
As you can tell, we're pretty lax with the ruleset. This event is supposed to be fun for everyone, not just people who are up-tight. Personally, the 24th is going to be doing lines and stuff, but we're just doing it for fun and the epic factor. Do what you want to and have fun!
