Summary

The 85th "Bucks Volunteers" Regiment of Foot is a laid back kind of regiment that allows a diversity of members and the establishment of a fun environment. The regiment still follows a line of professionalism, discipline, and skill along with the fun that comes with it. The regiment will conduct sessions of training for all ranges of NW and attend events. When we aren't in the front lines, we are either lounging around or playing ARMA 3, Paradox games, or other games that seem to interest us at the time.

And yes, we did leave in the past for Holdfast but have returned.

History

The regiment was formed in Buckinghamshire by Lieutenant-Colonel George Nugent. Due to the threat posed by the French Revolution, the regiment was dispatched to the Duke of York's Army in the Netherlands in 1795 during the Flanders Campaign. After the unsuccessful defense, the regiment was posted in Gibraltar in 1795 until it embarked for the Netherlands again in 1799 where the regiment got its first action at the Battle of Alkmaar and the Battle of Castricum during the Anglo-Russian invasion of Holland. The regiment became a major force when it was part of the successful attack at the Battle of New Orleans on January 1815. The regiment had many battalions from Guards to Light Infantry during the Napoleonic Wars.

The regiment was the former 76y when it was brought back by Yugandda of the regiment in mid-2016. Not too long into the life of the regiment, it went through multiple merges which caused issues along with members. After these merges, new leadership took over after Yugandda stepped down from his position. Rick, who was one of the officers before, took the position. After re-organizing and re-branding it as the 85th in December of 2016, the 85th joined the KOB (King's Own Brigade) along the 41st and 2nd SAO. In March of 2017, Rick stepped down as Colonel after some issues came up, leaving the regiment without leadership. Tatersalad15, who was Major, was asked to take lead of the regiment and did. He re-organized the regiment to be more open to people and ideas. The 85th would stay in the KOB until February of 2018, when the 41e(re-branding from the 41st) had a break-up and the 2nd SAO was disbanding. It left the 85th to leave the KOB as it needed to take its destiny in its own hands. The 85th would become independent and move to Holdfast. After a few months, due to stagnation of Holdfast, the regiment decided to return to NW for events. As of Summer 2018, the 85th formed the 7th Coalition as a brigade along with the 61e and the 36th that lasted some time (all three regiments were once part of the KOB, so it explains our history together).

Long story short: We went through a lot of crap to get to where we are today.
