If I can make a little suggestion : in french we say "Chef de Bataillon" and not "Chef du Bataillon"  ;)

I was asking about it 45e, and a french man said that should be ,,du", i do not know who's right ^^

Chef 'du' bataillon is chief of the bataillon but it's not a rank.
Chef 'de' bataillon is a rank.

I'm not sure whether that name is correct, though. Wasn't it something like 'Sappeurs-Mineurs de la garde'?
