They could always do a "real" alpha where people with different specs get to play (for free) to actually test the game and make sure it works on most systems.
#2000s alpha #Blizzard alpha

That's exactly the opposite of a real Alpha.

We choose to hold a very exclusive alpha because we do not want a lot of testers right now because it will be unworkable. It will mostly turn people away from the game than otherwise, because of it's current development phase.

Our alpha really is alpha, unlike other games.

Once we go into beta stage the limit is set much lower ;)

Just wait a bit more the game will be in your hands when it is done instead of when its a piece of crap that you can complain about.

Selling alpha isn't a "real" alpha a real alpha would be to invite reliable people with different specs to test the game.

At least from my point of view.

Don't worry a lot of alphas were not fun and sort of unplayable at launch, such as Kingdoms Rise alpha and arma 3/DayZ alpha which both had really low fps. Just make sure to keep up with the feedback your testers give you, I remember when NW was in beta with the 92nd/51st the upswing couldn't move up and down which made the melee really wonky however that quickly changed I believe due to the input of your playtesters. Good luck and keep steadfast in the development, a lot of us still believe in you guys 8)

There is no constricting definition of alpha. Typically alphas are the first phase of testing which most companies do internally with some exceptions. However there is no such thing as a real alpha definition afaik.
