tough loss. I think that we did fine, just needed to have a stronger offense earlier. Oklahoma had really good defense and we couldn't make a stop in the 4th.
Our only losses are to top 5 teams (both lost by 1 touchdown) so we just need to win out, which we can do.

I didn't see the SC vs Georgia game but it must have been good. Marksman will be happy lol

Was a piss poor showing by Georgia and especially Fromm. They could have tried to kick a 60 yard field goal with 8 seconds left but opted to hail Mary, which didn't go far. They just deserved the L, which is sad to say as a fan.

Yeh SC gave them many chances but Georgia's boring and simple offense couldn't do much. Yeh Fromm was pretty bad and I thought he would adjust during the 2nd half but didn't.

florida did better than i thought they would.

i was surprised how much of a defensive battle OU vs TX was. was a good game.

baylor wins yet another close game.

last i saw Minn beat Neb pretty handily.

i didnt watch the game, as i thought it wouldnt be close, but it looked like georgia was its own worse enemy.  congrats to SC though, beating top 5 teams always memorable.

MSU vs Wis was an ouch.   i didnt think it would be that lopsided.  Wis is easily the best team in the west, and OSU looks like the best in the east.

Iowa is in for a long season.  the offensive line is playing no where near its potential.  how many times can a defensive lineman just run up the middle before you try and do something to stop it.  at least we had one of the top plays of the year at the end of the game.  Was a close game before Iowa became its own worst enemy.   tbh, i dont remember the last time Iowa had a running back break for a long run(40+ yards) for a td.  We use to do it a lot, but in the last 5-10 years we haven't had a back or line capable of doing it on a consistent basis.  It doesn't help Iowa doesn't have a deep threat, so everyone can just play in or near the box.  We don't have our 2 NFL TEs as a safety blanket.   On the bright side, i feel good about the future TEs, our freshman RB(goodman i think), and our backup QB which i assume will start next year.

on a side note for the Iowa game(mainly second half), the refs made some weird calls that hurt both teams.   there was a touchdown that was reversed, even though at worst the call should of stood as is.  there was a targeting that met both criteria to be confirmed but then they reviewed and reversed that.  there were a lot of other missed calls or they called penalties on super light stuff that didnt need it.   Iowa didn't lose because of the refs and i wouldnt say the games outcome  would of changed because of the refs.(penn state got the worst of it imo)  I just hate when refs are all over the place on what they do and dont call.  the 2 calls they reversed shouldn't have been.

SC had a nice upset. Georgia looked like it struggled real bad on offense. South Carolina did very well on defense against a Georgia team that looks like they need to rethink their offensive strategy. On offense USC struggled also, Hilinski was playing on 1 leg for the whole game until he eventually had to be taken out. If he had been healthy all game without injury and everything else had gone the same I cant help but think USC wouldnt have even needed to go to OT. A few players really showed including corner Mukuamu with three picks. Overall good game. Thank you for listening to my appropriate, mature, and completely non boastful analysis of this game because of course I would never ever do something that immature and unfledged on this forum....

I feel like Iowa only plays in tough grind it out games to the very end.

Bama takes care of business. LSU is on a path to being the second SEC team in the playoff this year. Florida did a lot better than I thought they’d do.

Was typing this while drunk last night and never posted it. Idk what else I was gonna say lmao

I think LSU has a good chance of beating bama.  Only way SEC is getting 2 teams in is if the other conferences eat each other up.  OSU, Wis, OK, Clem are currently worthy.  Then there are all the possible 1 loss teams at the end knocking on the door.  I still think they should of done 8 game playoff instead of 4 from the start.  Even 6 would be better.   It avoids the issue of leaving one conference out.  It allows teams like ND to get in even without being in a conference.   It allows the other non power 5 schools a chance if they have a great season.  It allows teams who only lost one game all year(possibly to one of the top 4) a chance to play.

Grind it out games are the only games Iowa plays.  We almost never blow people out.  We don't have any star receivers or RB that can make big plays constantly.  The vast majority of Iowas wins or loses are all within one possession.  If Iowa wins most or all of the close games, it is a great season.  If we lose most, its an awful season. It is a stat they bring up every season.   I find watching ISU to be a less rage inducing.

for this weekend:

Oregon and Washington
Baylor and Ok State
AZ State and Utah
Penn State and Michigan
ISU and TT
Maybe SC and Florida?

I find it interested that there are undefeated teams like SMU and Appalachian State, but I don't think it's too notable because of their schedule and conferences.
kinda the same thing for Minnesota, but they will be tested later in the season having to play Wis, Penn State and Iowa.
