Spoiler
Im curious, why do you have Hardee hat when your...20th Maine?
Because they had Hardee hats.

Well, aye it was U.S. Army Issue, but I just never thought imagining the 20th Maine with Hardee hats.

I wonder if there's any documentation on whether or not they were ever actually issued them. Either way, it is good to own a hardee in case a portrayal calls for it.

they did not. Its more of a camp hat. I got it for a good price before I had anything else. Not going to wear it in the field..
Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.

Ohh I see, well it'll come in handy if your portraying a specific unit that wore hardee hat into combat in some scenario in a battle.

You couldn't resist the sexiness of the Hardee Hat huh? lol

yeah pretty much. Before I got most of the gear I was with my dad in gettysburg and saw a nice hardee for sail at a sutler. I couldn't resist so I bought it. It wont really be a part of my impressions just a nice thing to have.
Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.

How much will a full kit like this run you? I've been looking into this but don't know if I can afford it.

Well I wouldn't lead him astray with going cheap and having to replace everything anyways. Gives money to those who don't need to be selling garbage. xD

Well, just bear in mind you're probably going to have to make alterations to whatever it is you buy, so getting handy with the needle and thread is a good thing to get into, even for reenacting in general. I've learned out of neccessity. Not to say I'm too good...
Humans are extremely complicated creatures. Death uncomplicates them to a frightening degree...

Planing on doing a more updated photo today or tomorow. Addition of Greatcoat, mittins and knapsack.
Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.

Hot Damn, you are packing gears at a lighting speed. But just curious, where did you get your Knapsack from? I got mine from Dell's Leather.

Looking at the discussion on the upper part of this page, I consider it a bit strange the Hardee hat, a stiff hat used for dress, is considered a camp hat, instead of the Forage cap.

I mean, it's in the bloody name  :P Forage caps are for camps and foraging, dress hats (such as the Hardee or shako) are for dress or in case of the Napoleonics, battle.

Riddlez thinks he sees you holding your arm close to your body.
For increased accuracy, hold your arm in a 90 degree angle with your body.

Unless this conflicts the historical accuracy, of course.
Probably one of the very few old-timers here who hasn't been a regimental leader.

Riddlez need to stuff it with "Riddlez" You got busted by Batman while ago. How can you have internet in jail?

This is how you hold it anyway. Trust me. I've tried it and wasn't comfortable at all. Also. Heres another deal, we shoot fast....we dont take careful aims like a sniper. We load and aim for 2 sec and fire away. So our arm would have been averted to this position in such a quick time.
