Update #3

Sorry to disappoint you but we have no new items to show today. However, we do have important news we want to share.

First of all, we have another coder to help out Joseph, Gaham. He's also studying animation so it's possible he'll be able to help us with animations in the future. Also, we now have a steam group! You can ask the dev team questions and get notifications when we release an update. Later on it'll be used to organize events. So join up!

Okay. Now for something very very important. After hours of discussion, we've agreed to allow the active members of the Mount&Shovel team join us. This will greatly speed up development of the mod and basically reduce the work load on all of us.

OP will be updated soon with the new team members. Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more info!

Update #4

We've all been pretty busy so work has been a bit slower, but here's a small update.

Joseph has got the French Uniform  and helmet in game. He's still working on the rigging and getting the spec in though so this is still far from the finished product. The helmet especially will look much better when spec is added.
Spoiler

And yes, that is a new dirt texture.

And here's a sneak peak at the French officer. Still a lot to do.

Last, Hampus Norlander has made some awesome art!

Update #5
Hey everybody! Here's update #5. First of all, please welcome Rojen, Baillie, Hudson and Diplex Heated to the team!

So Rojen and Baillie were actually working on their own WWI mod before but is now part of the Iron Europe team. Here is a Brodie Helmet they made.

So we were told by Docm that the shape that our Stahlhelm was wrong, so Hampus corrected it. The color is still wrong but at least the shape is now more like the real thing.
Spoiler

Another issue we were told about is that the faces were too clean. That's completely right so we got our new team member Baillie to put some mud splatters on them.
Spoiler

And now, we have some pictures of the Lebel Rifle in game. Ignore the crossbow bolts

Update #7
Thanks to all those that voted in the poll and posted opinions in the thread. We have a pretty good idea on what we're going to do about females now. Now to the models.

We have tons of trench melee weapons now. You'll have a wide variety of weapons to bash your enemies with!

Update #8

Alright, as Azrooh just said, he'll be working on this mod as a contributor. Now this is some really good news for us because Azrooh is a very skilled, very experienced coder. This opens up tons and tons of possibilities for us. He's going to help us with things like deployable machine guns, artillery, bayonets, medpacks, and poison gas. Some more info:

Machineguns : We'll have light machineguns that you fire on the move and heavy machineguns that you'll need to deploy like a rocket to use. They'll also overheat, forcing the player to fire in bursts.
Artillery and Gas : Artillery will be breechloaded, so no ramming. It'll also be able to fire percussive shell shot and canister will be replaced with poison gas.
Gas Masks : Gasmaks can be toggled with a key and will allow the player to pass through poison gas safely
Bayonets : Bayonets will work just like in Secession, you press a key to toggle it on and off. While the bayonet is on,  your rifle is a little bit less accurate but is a much deadlier weapon in melee
Medkits: Medkits will be very simple, just throwing weapons that can heal players.

Edit:Note that none of this is set in stone and may be changed.

We're also almost ready to release a mapping module for mappers that want to get started early. It'll have a bunch of WWI props that we've created.

Update #9

A week ago, we showed some big plans for the future. Azrooh has gotten started on some of the features but let's start off with some models.

The Adrian Helmet! Again!
Spoiler
But now it has a cap badge, leather strap, and the texture has been changed a little. There will be some variation with the helmets so you'll find that on the battlefield not every Adrian helmet with have the strap.

Lebel Bayonet
Spoiler
By Rigadoon. Right now it is not showing up properly in game(as you'll see in the video) but it'll be fixed.
[close]

Shovel
Spoiler
Here's a shovel from Lucke189's WWI osp that will be available as a melee weapon.
[close]

French Officer Uniform ingame
Spoiler
Note that the officer most likely won't have a sword in the actual release. Also, the helmet badge isn't showing up properly on the Adrian Helmet yet.
[close]

So here is what Azrooh has done in coding! This video shows the French Chauchat Light Machine Gun in action with auto fire! It also shows the attachable/detachable bayonet feature.

Update #10

It's been a while since the last update but like I said, we're still working. For those who don't know, BetaKnight is now part of the team! He is a very skilled modeler/texturer and will be helping me finish up the uniforms. Here are all the models we've made in the past couple weeks.

A French backpack variation made by BetaKnight.

Also if you take a closer look at the previous picture, you'll notice that we have new shoes! Also made by BetaKnight. Here's a closeup.
Spoiler

I've been working on a French Mortier de 58 mm type 2, also known as the Crapouillot.

Here's a gas warning bell. Modeled by Hudson and textured by Baillie.

This trench here is from the WWI OSP made by Lucke. Since we'd like our trenches to be destructible by artillery fire, I made a destroyed version.

Update #11
We finally have a version of the mapping module out, sorry for the long delay. This is just Napoleonic Wars with all the WWI props we made. The idea is to allow mappers to get started on mapping before the release of the mod. Here are some screenshots of some of the props on low graphics.
Spoiler

[close]
As you can see it's still very rough so we'll be fixing it up as we go along. Please let us know how to improve it!

Here's the link!
Spoiler
Wait stop. To those people who like clicking links without reading anything - Just be sure that you know this is just a mapping module.

Oh and the textures and models of many of the props are from the WWI OSP made by Lucke189. AndreusAs was also kind enough to let us use his sandbags that he made for his Warhammer 40k mod. Thank them for making this possible.

Edit:Note that users have found the mapping module to have multiple issues. I recommend those to wait for the module update we will be releasing in some time.
