April-June
Hey everyone thanks for voting me back in.

Week 1:

The community is still going strong which is honestly amazing to see after almost a decade of this. Everyone is playing bannerlord and Nws population is going down a little bit but still holding strong. congratulations to the LG for winning the recent Intercontinental League (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=43150.0) and thank you to wastee for hosting the Pit Weekly gf (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=42859.0).

A special thank you to Copot for his Monday Event (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=42720.0), Moraine for his Wednesday Event (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=43631.0), Jetch & NickJ for their Friday Event (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=41896.0), Shrooms for his Saturday Event (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=42209.0), and Kitty for his Sunday Siege Event (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=43298.0). Without all of you taking the time out of your days to organize and host theses events we might be bring 150+ people per events. As well as a big thank you to the countless regiments who are out there still trying to grow and give a place for people to come and enjoy public events! You've all kept the community going.

Personally I don't believe I can change the community in anyway, all I can do is give my suggestions and help hosters & regiments where I can. I recommend posting in the BBG discord (https://discord.gg/D56qj8J) if you're looking to recruit for NW or Bannerlord. We get a lot of traffic through the discord and a good amount of regiments post in our recruitment page. If you're looking to making a Bannerlord Clan then post a thread in their new board The Clan Hall (https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?forums/the-clan-hall-multiplayer-clans.163/) If you'd like any help making one just let me know!

So for this term I will be looking to help NW regiments port over to Bannerlord, give my support to regiments to help keep up recruitment, and to event hosters if they need any help what so ever.

The Release of Bannerlord

Since bannerlord is now opened to the public and in early access a lot of regiments are porting over to the game and starting their new clans. But since at the moment we cannot buy our own servers and there are no official event servers many of course are still attending NW events. The pub events have been running on their own for a long time now and are of course very stable. I'll still reach out to them and see if they need any help with anything.

On the topic of Bannerlord it self.

           I know a lot of people are hesitant to buy the game due to mix reviews. Currently everyone is having mixed results with performance, some people are having little issues and for some the game is unplayable. For those who haven't bought the game yet I will say this. If you have a low end system or are running Windows 7 don't expect to play the game very well. But You do have to find out for yourself how it'll run on your specs. You may be wondering why Windows 7? Well there have been a lot of issues with the game running on windows 7, most commonly you cannot login to multiplayer. They have released a patch which has helped some with this issue but didn't help for everyone. Low tier systems can run mulitplayer alright, myself I have an 8th gen i5U with an MX150 & 8Gbs of ram and I can run the siege gamemode (60v60) with 30-40 fps. The campaign is super buggy and isn't running well currently so I'd hold off of buying the game is that's all you want.

Taleworlds has been making really great progress since the release a few days ago. They have been reading the forum(which I highly recommend reading through) taking in a lot of bugs and glitches. I'd say buy the game and see how it runs and then wait for updates I know a ton of NW players have already sunk 24+ hours into the game. If you're short on money or just can't bring yourself to pay the price of a game that may not run there no problem there. Don't buy the game if you don't want to. You won't be missing out on much other than getting used to the new mechanics.

There will probably be a small shock in numbers, but honestly, I have been getting more recruits since the Bannerlord release since recruits are interested in Bannerlord but also playing the occasional NW event. I believe NW will be fine until a NW bannerlord mod comes out which will probably bring a steeper decline to this community because most of us will have to make the transition there

I'd agree with you if it was still early beta. Personally I find the melee to be fairly smooth. it's a new system but still feels like the old one for the most part.

Irish got me to play it again for a lil bit and it's not as clunky as I believed it to be. While I'm still not a SUPER big fan of it, I'll admit it takes some getting used to.  8)

Bannerlord is not perfect but it’s definitely better than Warband. NW was fun while it lasted. Its time to play Bannerlord until an NW mod comes out.

I still REALLY hate the horse mechanics though..and the spears on horseback.  :'(

I'm really enjoying bannerlord but I wouldn't say it's better than warband. I see them as two completely different games, Warband and NW hit that niche group perfectly. The game is perfectly broken and I don't think we'll see anything like it again, the community, gameplay, and events were just perfectly broken.

I really enjoy the cav in bannerlord, it moves more like a real horse. I know it's cringe but I ask my mum who rode horses and she said it moved properly. But those are all just opinions!

Bannerlord’s singleplayer is just an improved version of Warbands. And the multiplayer is already fun. It’s only gonna get improved and reworked. Balancing issues still need to be worked out too. Once mods and private servers start up it’s not even gonna be close.

It is hard not to enjoy playing cav in its current state.  Your horses do not buck like they do in NW when you run into a wall at full speed.  Horses accelerate very fast.   Spears overall are very underwhelming.  You can run off cliffs and not only live, but sometimes both you and your horse do not lose a lot of HP.  Horses can tank a ton of damage.  2 handed weapons on horseback are comically good.   I haven't been too impressed with 1 handed swords.   Even when you are dismounted, there is a good chance you will just fly far enough away that you are safe.

Community update

Tournaments:
- North American Gold 5v5 League [Season 3] (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=43884.0) Aurum is back this time hosting a 5v5 draft league for the spring/summer season. Currently there are 32 players sign-up for the chance to win $250 as a team!

- The Stryker's Pit (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=43882.0) Stryker has taken over Wastees monday Groupfighting night. Huge thanks to Wastee for starting it and for Stryker continuing it.


Linebattles/Events
The public linebattles have been going strong seeing full server and even two servers on the Saturday event. It's great to see the community is strong in that part!
Recent events:
- The 2ndHan have taken over the Monday event from Copot(Thanks for hosting!)
- Nachtel has started a Tuesday linebattle event

 Events are always looking for admins, both spec and in game. If you're interested contact a server host.

community
- Risk has restarted the NA Groupfighting server (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=43925.0) it is now up and active so get on there!

We've got some amazing news! Warband Matchmaking has come to NA!
These matches are 6v6 or 3v3 groupfights! Quick, easy, and fun!

Join https://warbandmatchmaking.com/webmm/nw/na/ and make account. Make sure you use the same name ingame as you did on the browser. Once you've made an account you must join an NA server for your ID then you're ready to go!

The project is being run by Bullez, Lapache, and Mynes!

For Na Anthony will be acting as our Community rep. Myself as the server host and currently Fartknocker is an admin.

Come try it out currently there's 3 servers up and running. If you have any issues Ask Anthony, myself or any admin

Competitive

- The 2v2 (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=44218.0) is in it's 3rd week of matches and so far has been pretty fun for everyone, it's been a good league for more casual regiments to try out a semi-competitive situation.

- RGL season 2 (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=44284.0) has started hosted by Risk. First week matches are happening now.

Public Events

- 2nd han have taken over the Weds linebattle (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=44339.0)

- PapaBean has returned to hosting a thursday event (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=44341.0) featuring his custom maps.

- The line only saturday event will be having it's 2nd event tomorrow, first event was a good time and for some a lot more fun than standard linebattles.

Community

- There's also been a new naval server (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=44340.0) that will be released soon for EU and will eventually make it's way to NA, It's much better than the previous one we had for NA

Not sure yet, I'm just getting info about it. There's 20+ regs interested in it NA/EU. I'm assuming it'll be weekly but it may turn into a once in a few week "Special" event.

It will be done on the Taleworlds Forums as unfortunate as that is. The mod is being endorsed by Taleworlds themselves, I haven't spoken to Lucon about it but thats the general feel I got.

One thing you need to remember is the modding tools for Bannerlord came out less than a month ago. So it will take alot of time before anything like that is done. It will start off how Mount and Musket did, base models/textures then into the combat and mechanics itself.

(Textures first as they could work on this before the modding tools came out).

Community is doing pretty well with activity.  1v1 league is gonna finish up in the next two weeks(hope) Draft league starting soon, couple tourneys happening & public events are doing well. Also pretty neat to see new people sign up for the draft league :D

Taleworlds blew it. Had the most hyped game of 2020 and completely fucked it up. I would rather have had it be delayed two more years than to end up with the disappointment that they released. And now we are stuck with NW forever. Bannerlord NW would’ve felt like Holdfast anyways

Yup that's right I'm done with being CR. I also won't be hosting anything and won't doing much server providing(maybe a few things).

So I hope I've done well enough in aiding in the continuation of the NA community. I think I failed short on a few things for pubs but a select few have been keeping them going for a long time now without much issue. I'd like to think I did well in providing for the competitive side but that's up to everyone else to decide.
