The bit where Hitler was burnt was the saddest part.
Most emotional film of 2015 (even though it's from 2005) :'(

I watch interstellar almost every week. I fucking love that movie.fucking normalfag
I watch interstellar almost every week. I fucking love that movie.Oh yeah, Interstellar was pretty good. I appreciated the fact that it was actually based on proper science, from the Dustbowl to the blackholes/relativity and everything in between (although the extra dimensional bits were all hypothetical since there's no real way of visualising it etc, but still).

Ex Machina was also really good, and the latest Terminator wasn't too bad either.

It's not related per se, but the blending of science and making you think while still being an entertaining movie with good character development make it similar enough to recommend it based on you liking Interstellar. That being said it's a really good film in it's own right, so I think everyone should watch it :3
Jurassic world was ok. I haven't seen interstellar yet, is it really that good?In my opinion yes, it's an interesting premise for a movie and leagues beyond Gravity in a story.
What's with all the war movies, especially Vietnam, that seems to be a really popular subject..Top Gun???
Apocalypse Now, Forrest Gump, Good Morning Vietnam, Full Metal Jacket, Tropic Thunder, Jacob's Ladder, Rambo
Damn.

If you liked it, you would probably enjoy The Grand Budapest Hotel as well. That is if you haven't seen it already. The Fantastic Mr. Fox is in a way a children's movie, but it is also somewhat enjoyable.
Yeah I've seen both of those as well, I enjoy Wes Anderson's films quite a bit, even the Mr. Fox one was great, George Clooney was a good fit for Mr. Fox.
Love Wes Anderson. You seen the Darjeeling Express? It's another Anderson movie and it's really good.Yeah I've seen both of those as well, I enjoy Wes Anderson's films quite a bit, even the Mr. Fox one was great, George Clooney was a good fit for Mr. Fox.
I absolutely agree that Wes Anderson's movies are good. I can't give an opinion on Clooney in The Fantastic Mr. Fox however, as I viewed the movie in my native language rather than English.
I find it that Wes' movies have a special feel to them, kind of fairytaleish if I'd say.
Haven't watched a film in the last week due to being on holiday but the best film I've watched kinda recently is Johnny got his gun. Directed by Dalton Trumbo who wrote the novel on which the film is based, and that is always a good start imo.
The story follows the struggles of a world war 1 soldier who is out burying a body of an enemy soldier that is causing quite a stink, as the body is caught on some barbed wire. A Colonel orders the body to be buried, a team is sent out to bury the remains, our protagonist Joe Bonham is part of this team. As the body is buried a flare goes up and the whistle of mortars is heard and Joe takes cover in a crater.
Joe then awakens in a hospital (as far as he could tell) unable to see. He slowly discovers that he can't hear, nor see. Soon he detected that he also has an arm missing. Then two missing arms. Joe next finds out his legs are missing too. In addition he finds that he is missing his ears, eyes, nose, mouth and jaw. So begins his struggle in trying to live whilst not really being able to live.
He is kept alive by a tube in his stomach and lungs. His only contact with humanity is through the nurses that come into his room and do nurse stuff (changing bed sheets etc) he's loosing grip on everything he knows.
I won't go into any more detail of the movie/book, but I will say it is a very harrowing experience, certainly not one for those thinking of joining the armed forces.
Overall the film isn't amazing but conveys a strong message. If you do watch the film I would highly recommend the book it's labeled as one of the most shocking anti-war novels of all time. Made a pacifist out of me for sure. Also the book is quite different from film so I really would recommend reading the book.

I recently saw Moonrise Kingdom, a movie directed by Wes Anderson. Wes Anderson is known for works such as "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" and "The Grand Budapest Hotel" among many others. His movies all seem to have a similar feel to them, they're all a bit odd.Wes Anderson is an incredible director.
Moonrise Kingdom is about a young scout, who's troop is located at an island off the coast of New England during the 1960's. He runs away from his troop with a girl who he has fallen in love with. A search party is established to look for the young couple.
The movie is witty and odd, in some ways similar to Wes Anderson's other works. I enjoyed it and thought it was quite good.
I rate it ~8/10
Genre: Comedy/Drama
I watched it on popcorn time. If you plan on doing the same, I suggest watching in 1080p and not 720p, as I experienced audio issues in 720p.

What about Jarhead?I loved Jarhead. When my brother got back from basic training, we watched it together. dopE
I've seen this film yesterday, and I think that even if it's a commercial film with high budget and all that stuff, it's very interesting to analize modern warfare, where the war moves at 80 km for second, and the infantry is not the principal strength anymore.
If you've time you should watch it, also because it's a very well done film, from the start to the end.
In case let me know what you think about this.

There is a free movie on YouTube that I watched a long time ago called "Joshua and the promised land". It's a family friendly christian film with great storytelling and plot. Probably one of the best epic fantasy / adventure films of all time.
You should watch it ASAP.

I think that it's impossible to argue the opposite. Imho Clockwork orange it's the best film he made, even if all were fantastic
2001 is probably the most boring and annoying movie I have ever watched. I felt like it was just a bunch of random noises...It is VERY artsy yeah. You either like it or not
Saw Léon: The Professional for the first time I've only seen parts from it before it was a really good movie do recommend.
I also saw Room the other day also great! Two very different movies though.

If you're interested in the eastern front in general, there are some really great Russian movies too. They Fought for their Motherland, The Ascent, Ivan's Childhood, and Come and See are all must sees imo.

I saw Das Boot/The Boat on netflix a week or so ago. It's about a German submarine crew in the later years of WW2.
The movie is, as the name implies, in German. So if you're an uncultured pig, uneducated in foreign linguistics, you'll most likely watch it with subtitles. The movie is pretty enjoyable though and I do recommend it.Quote from: IMDBThe claustrophobic world of a WWII German U-boat; boredom, filth, and sheer terror. 8,4/10
