I also do WWII Heer Infantry and CW Virginian Militia Infantry. I'll post those sometime.
So I managed to pull my WWI reenacting gear and uniform together and going through it is almost like a mixture between a Civil War Union impression and WWII with standard gear with influences of that "late" 1800's militaria feel as well as the WWII gear not being very much different at first glance.
It's a low resolution picture, I had to get a lot of different items in view and there's only so much a cell phone camera can do. If there's any questions about any piece, please feel free to ask away and I'll take better, up close pictures.
What's not pictured that I will supplement with my WWII gear which I plan on replacing in the future:
Shovel and carrier
Breadbag
Belt
Jackboots
Braces
Here it is:
The canteen has a courderoy material cover.
I do not have a gas mask yet.
I plan on replacing the shoulderboards on my tunic with IR.124 ones once I'm voted into my unit.
The grenade is a cheap dummy and I will be putting a painted cardboard cover over the top. (it's open because of charge)
I also have a dummy trench "bat", but my brother uses it.
The greatcoat is a Swiss conversion. The guy who did it is really good at conversions, so it's nicknamed a "Steiner Original".
The 1918 helmet I plan on replacing with a 1916 eventually and even a Württemberg Pickelhaube for the Centennial events.
I plan on buying a M1907 Feldmützen in the future with the Württemberg cockade.
Also going to buy the "3.Kompanie" bayonet knot.
Note: I know the Württemberg Corps issued their own ammunition pouches during WWI, being nearly identical to the WWII medic pouches. I'm going to bring it up to my unit members, since a good early war impression would include these pouches that aren't reproduced.
