Suggestions & Bug Reports / Repairable Ships + Boarding Ships

Hello,

These are just 2 ideas I saw on the Developers Blog 18 and thought I'd put it here and see if peoples opinions and if they have any ideas to add to these suggestions

First of; Repairable Ships: It would be very useful if you are able to repair ships if you are a sapper class as sappers (at the moment) in naval battles are useless except from providing Betty her TNT to sink ships . Maybe make ships destructible from musket shots? And maybe make the health see able if you are a sapper.

Second; Boarding Ships: At the moment there is very little chance of a successful boarding a big ship for you have only one means of getting to it which is the leap of faith from your ship to theirs which at the point where you jump the admiral may move it so you under jump or you slip and fall to your watery but quick death. Maybe implement drop able ladders that will fall onto the other boat when riding side to it or making ropes that can be thrown to attach to the other boat and walked across.

I was wondering if there's a way to unsubscribe from topics so whenever you go onto "Show unread posts since last visit" you won't be spammed with a I.E a regiments thread which you said "Good Luck" too months ago and has become very active.

Someone should really make a sticky of these instructions somewhere, but whatever, here goes again.

1.  Go to Profile > Modify Profile > Look and Layout.
2.  Look for "Show quick-moderation as" and choose "checkboxes" from the drop down. Save changes to your profile.
3.  To unsubscribe from a thread tick the box to its right on the new posts page then click the "Ignore thread" button at the bottom of the page.

You can change which threads you ignored from your Profile by going Modify Profile > Ignore Threads Options.

Useful Key Tricks You Should Know

This thread is used to list the hidden key tricks that you should use to improve your gameplay and your skill.

- CTRL + J -

Affect: Rears Up Horse (Halts Horse)

When playing as cavalry, you can press these 2 keys at the same time and in turn will rear up your horse stopping you immediately in your tracks. It can be used to trick enemy chasing cavalry or to insure your stop your horse in a certain place.

Not just aesthetic, you can use it to surprise attack chasing cavalry. I can't do it as I suck at playing cavalry but I've seen others do it.

Also if you are a dragoon, you can use it to stop and reload really quick.

Affect: Zooms Out On 3rd Person

Holding down one of these 2 keys on the numpad will either increase our decrease your zoom in 3rd person, this can increase your view range in 3rd person thus more aware view of your surroundings.

Recently after having my cat step on my keyboard I discovered that you can zoom in or out in third-person by holding + or - on the numpad. I now use the maximum zoomed out mode because it greatly increases my ability to see things around me, and it certainly makes groupfighting easier.

- Double Tapping Movement Key (When Dead) -

Affect: Increases Speed Of Freecam

When you are dead, if you ddouble tap any movement key then move with that direction key you will travel around the map faster.

Some people also don't know that if your in freecam, you can double tap the movement key for extra speed.

- W+Tab+Control+Roll Mouse In Direction (When Dead) -

Affect: Increases Speed Of Freecam

It's like Dion's one, just easier for laptops.

Weird one, but while spectating, press W+Tab+Control+roll mouse wheel forward
You will eventually move at lightning speeds around the map and can even go into space.

Affect: Brings Up Chat Logs Of The Server

Essentially pressing this when in a server will bring up the recent chat list and will list the kills (but will not show how they are killed). It is good for ban reqs.

- Alt+Enter -

Affect: Switches To Windowed Version

Pressing these 2 keys will result in Mount and Blade being switched into windowed mode; basically it'll be in browser style in which you can see the bottom pin-board and such.

Affect: View Outfit (Locked Freecam Of Yourself)

Another useful key is this one, holding down this when in 3rd person will put you in freecam which is locked to your person; This can be used for when you are running and you want to make sure nothing is behind you but you don't want to stop running. You can change the shortcut to this through:

- Alt+Tab -

Affect: Tab Out Of Game / Go To Desktop

Like most games, you can tab out to access your desktop without actually ending the game. Great for when you're in long linebattles, battles etc...

- F0 -

Affect: Command Shouts

If you press F0 it will list 5 options (F1 F2 etc) that if pressed will make your character shout a command and if in commander battle will command your men; if you are not in a commander battle you will simply shout the word (I.E Fire!).

F1 through F10 should have voice commands that you use during commander battle. I like it because on England you can say "present", and your friend can say "fire at will" sometimes tricking people into firing, getting yelled at, demoted, etc etc

- Hold Down Movement Key And Press T -

Affect: Locks Movement

When running across a massive map you might be too lazy to hold down W to walk forward, holding down W then T (Whilst still holding down W) will lock that movement so you will run across the map but without you having to press down W. To stop running simply press Esc.

Hmm, I know a useful key trick, though its explanation is a bit larger than, for example, "E to kick." (these can all be found in the menu in-game I believe)

When you press t or y to chat, the game holds on to whatever key you were also holding at the same time. So if I want to type in a quick chat message while advancing my character I hold 'w' (walk forward) and press t, my guy keeps walking forward while I type in the chat box, no matter if I press or hold the w key or not.

- Ctrl + Insert -

Affect: Screenshot (Non-Steam)

As you know you can take screenshots of Mount and Blade with F12 which will save to your account and thus you can upload it for your friends to see, but say you want the photo for a wallpaper or to upload the forums? If you press Ctrl+Insert it saves the current screen image of Mount and Blade and saves it to: " C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Mount&Blade Warband\Screenshots\Napoleonic Wars ".

Pressing # when you have a weapon out will result in you sheathing your current weapon and taking out your fists for a more manly fight! Brawls galore!
