I am currently in AIT for being a Combat Medic. I'm in the same unit as North and Svenypoo.
Where you going for AIT? You getting out as an E-2?

JBSA Ft Sam Houston. Probably, it's an 18 week course.

The british army is so outdated. They still use lee enfields and shitty variations of the sten gun. Even their more modern guns are garbage, bulpup shit stains on weapon design. If they had been less arrogant and gone with foreign weapons that actually work, then maybe they wouldn't have lost in afghanistan.

This along with their low requirements and training are the reason why they lost in ww2 and had to be saved by their own ex colony. UK used to be an OK country, but now it's full of incompetent asshats. Just look at brexit.

You can probably trace this problem right down to the root of the collapse of the british empire.

A shoe is an item of footwear intended to protect and comfort the human foot while doing various activities. Shoes are also used as an item of decoration. The design of shoes has varied enormously through time and from culture to culture, with appearance originally being tied to function. Additionally, fashion has often dictated many design elements, such as whether shoes have very high heels or flat ones. Contemporary footwear varies widely in style, complexity and cost. Basic sandals may consist of only a thin sole and simple strap. High fashion shoes may be made of very expensive materials in complex construction and sell for thousands of dollars a pair. Other shoes are for very specific purposes, such as boots designed specifically for mountaineering or skiing.

Traditionally, shoes have been made from leather, wood or canvas, but are increasingly made from rubber, plastics, and other petrochemical-derived materials.

I'm going to be serving, I'll be joining the Light Dragoons soon, just waiting for my PDA date after an 8 month medical deferral, but I'm as fit as ever, thanks to MPCT.

Aren't the dragoons the Tankers now?

Side note: I think it's cool the british army kept the names of (some) cavalry units.
In the Netherlands, we also still have 3 Hussar regiments.
The scout-units are still the hussars and is still called Cavalry (light cav) and the tanks were part of the cavalry, too (Heavy cav), distinguished by their black barets.
Probably one of the very few old-timers here who hasn't been a regimental leader.

The British Army is one that is extremely proud of unit history and traditions. As a result though the rolls, duties and equipment of units have changed and many units have been lost to amalgamations the names still live on a testimony to their past. A great example of this is our reservist light tank units have kept the age old name of "Yeomanry"

Armoured Regiments
Queen's Royal Hussars
King's Royal Hussars
Royal Tank Regiment
Royal Wessex Yeomanry

Armoured Cavalry Regiments
Household Cavalry Regiment
Royal Dragoon Guards
Royal Lancers

Light Cavalry
1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards
Royal Scots Dragoon Guards
Light Dragoons
Royal Yeomanry
Queen's Own Yeomanry
Scottish and North Irish Yeomanry
