http://civilwardailygazette.com/ http://www.nps.gov/civilwar/index.htm Tennessee has some great battlefield to check out, especially the stones river, Franklin, Nashville (few forts inside the city) Also, Nashville has amazing civil war collection in Tennessee State Museum which has great collection of civil war book to buy as well,but the last and the Biggest and one of finest preserved, SHILOH!
The NPS site is great to learn about battles, they have great maps showing time to time of the battle and the daily gazette is cool little site covering "This date today" stuff.
when you go to battlefields, check out hte gift shop in NPS, they always have excellent books covering the war or specific battlefield or generals.
My best buy of the NPS gift shop was "Small but Spartan Band" amazing little book of Little Florida Brigade. Anyway, i hope that get you to right direction.
