I have Warband on Steam, and the DLC from Gamersgate/Amazon/Taleworlds, What do I do?
Go to your steam library, rightmousebutton on Mount & Blade: Warband and select “View CD Key” Write down the cd key for warband, you will need it later for the installation.
Download and install the non-steam version of warband:
Then install the non-steam version of the DLC here:
That didn't work! I have some weird 5x5 serial key warband does not accept it!, what do I do?
Look here to convert your serial: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,155134.0.html
I have a non-steam version of warband, how do I register it with steam?
Find your warband CD key and enter it in steam, it should register the game to your steam account.
I get a error when starting the game: “Missing xinput3_1.dll” What do I do ?
This is because you are missing the latest DirectX 9 Redistributable, get it here:
I have the steam version of the DLC and when I try to join a server I get a “Invalid CD Key” error message.
Restart steam and it should work.
I accidentally entered a wrong character when trying to join a server for the first time, Now I can’t join a server! I just get a “Invalid CD Key” error message.
* Click Start > Run
* Enter regedit
* A new window will open, browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > MountAndBladeWarbandKeys
* Search the entry, serial_key_nw, make sure that the value is the same as your CD key. Also make sure that the key is separated correctly. Double click the entry and modify it until it is correct. Watch out for invisible spaces in the CD key.
* If you are done with that, close the Registry Window and start the game, connect to the server and have fun playing!
How do I host a server?
You can find the full game manual here:
If your problem is not listed here, feel free to start a new topic.
Another common problem:
Alot of server dont show up in my server list!
-Go to C:\Users\<yourusername>\Documents\Mount&Blade Warband and open rgl_config.txt.
-Search (Strg+F) for max_number_of_connections = and replace the number behind the equal sign with 6.
-Save your changes and close the document.
Now you server browser will load the servers slower but will find significantly nore servers.
um hi, i wanted to ask if theres a solution to the connection is lost to server issue.
i only can play on a server for like 2-3 minutes and then i get 'Çonnection to server is lost'
i hope theres a solution for that problem
Windows 8 - Steam Not Launching Game/Launcher At All
Firstly from what I've seen this appears to be an isolated problem with the windows 8 OS, but I don't know for sure, but here is a fix that got my game working again after a lot of trial and error!
--- Quote ---Got it to work after a lot of trial and error.
The solution for this problem involves going into C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData*\Roaming\Mount&Blade Warband --- Delete the last file
* = To see AppData you need to enable hidden files (So you can see them) - doing this varies on different operating systems but on Windows 8 you go to the view tab on the top of the file explorer and tick the box 'Hidden items'
Then delete mount and blade from steam or uninstall it with the non steam version (I am not sure whether this is a necessary step, but I did it anyway).
Reinstall the game and it should work!
--- End quote ---
I've been having an issue playing NW. When I am playing, I'll experience the game freeze, and a sound will come from my computer (from the music in the game, and the computer freezing). Does anyone know what I have to do to correct this issue? I used to be able to play thing game without any issues like that whatsoever.
