Been reading 'The Eagle's Last Triumph' about the Battle of Ligny, and the author uses small parts of Mauduit's memoirs of the campaign! Sadly no big long translated passages like ones in 'Waterloo: The French Perspective'. I'm planning on buying Mauduit's account of the campaign, even though the only available copies are in French :S I also bought a copy of one Lieutenant Barral's account of the campaign, who I believe was also in the 1er since the author of the book I'm reading refers to him as Mauduit's comrade. Both are in French so will be long to read them since I can only speak basic French and pick out the odd word, thankfully there's someone who speaks French in the family :S

Heres something Mauduit reports from the night of the 15/16th June when Napoleon was at his headquarters in Charleroi, some of the 1er Grenadiers were cooking in the courtyard. Mauduit reports how imperial aides-de-camp would continually dash in and out of the chateau, as they passed across the courtyard, they would occasionally knock over the stacked muskets of the Guard. This made the guardsmen grumble even more.
