16e VÄSTGÖTA-DALS REGEMENTE
The 16th regiment of foot, raised in the county of Halland, was raised as several companies in the 16th century, though not in Halland. As the name suggests, the companies were raised in the regions called Västergötland and Dalsland. In 1615, Gustavus II Adolphus, king of Sweden, organized these separate units into one great unit consisting of three regiments, whereof the Västgöta-Dals was one. The men from the two counties would see action in several battles primarily against the German states and the Danish. Some of the most important engagements took place during the 17th century. In the Great Northern War, other important battles were fought with the 16th present.
The 16e is is looking for new members to join our ranks! We are a fairly new, Swedish (English Speaking) regiment. Anybody is welcome, regardless of skill, age, or nationality. We are a primarily EU regiment, but North American players may join too, if the times work out for them.
