Napoleonic Wars is over three years old now, and for the people from Mount & Musket, they've been here even longer. There have been tons of regiments to rise and fall throughout NW's time so far, and many notable players joining and leaving the game. It's developed differently for many people; we can look back at regiments like the BAB and FH and others who put professionalism and winning aside to have good fun, we can look back at regiments like Tavington's 91st, 92nd, and 33rd, that provided both disciplined events but also a pretty large array of fun moments, and we can look back at regiments like the 9y and 12th (and Tavington's 91st), that really capitalized on the competitive scene of the game.
For a game this old and weathered (I for one still get super nostalgic with my old Colonel over my first real regiment back in 2012), it's a complicated topic for some to explain why they're still playing. But for those who know why, feel free to share why.
And where avoidable, please avoid saying the same old "it's ruined my life" or "im addicted" shit.
