I was working at the grocery store in my neighbourhood and I was wearing my working overalls.
All off a sudden this old (like 80 year old) lady comes to me and says: Maurice??? (that is in fact my name)
So I responded like: uhm yes, do i know you miss??
And she starts telling a story about how she knew my mother because she taught her at primary school. And she goes on for 5 minutes like that.
After which i interrupt her and ask: I am sorry, but i dont see how that makes you know me.
To which she responds: Ohh no, i saw your name plate laying on the floor. You dropped it.
After saying that she walks away saying: TROLOLOLOLOL.

I was in a cafe having a coffee (as you do) and an American couple came in. The guy didnt know what an Americano coffee was but he ordered it anyway. (Black coffee incase it has a different name elsewhere) . His wife/partner got an Espresso. They then sat down near me and i heard the woman say to her husband/partner after she had tried the espresso "oh my god its bitter"

I face palmed.

God.

I'm an American but I swear our inistence on being ignorant still astounds me. Kids who want to learn in our school system actually get made fun of . People swear it's the fault of the teachers.

So true. But I guess it's the same in most western countries.

My WTF is because of a guy I know. He has lived of his social help for the last 3 years and doesn't suffer from any diseases at all. There is nothing that prevents him from working except that he simply doesn't want to.
Now he has been whining for the last week on Facebook because he doesn't get his money because he didn't show up for the few tasks he had to do every week. I mean, it's probably like 10 hours or stuff he needed to do, but that's too much for him.
God there is a reason why I'm liberal and just wants to cut down on those social services...
