Magic in the game (flying carpets)
« on: May 10, 2013, 05:44:34 pm »
The one thing that sets the mount blade series apart from any other game is the lack of magic or potions and things like that.

However i am thinking isnt it time now to add in a little extra like a flying carpet or the ability to do some magic tricks?
I think it would be a great patch for NW or a great addition for upcoming games.. and add a new twist to the game.

Imagine a merlin the magician rank for the british how cool would that be, merlin and the pipers marching together

No, the lack of magic is a good thing, also, shouldn't this topic be here https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?board=30.0

In theory we could do huge player numbers far over 500 players per server...  As such we will surely keep our promise to deliver you the 500 players per server.

We will probably go (far) over it, but that's for later.

No flying carpet for you.
Sucks.
Magic also, it's supposed to be as realistic as possible, what is "Magic" categorized in?
"Not Realistic".

Not sure if trolling or serious.

In case this was meant to be serious, than I am sorry for you. Mount and Blade and Napoleonic Wars are games based on realism. That is why most people play it. If you want to have magic, play Skyrim or all those games, there are enough of it.

`Trolling` (aka what you call something you dont like)
would be `OMG MOAR WE WANTZ FLYIN CARPETS INNIT HEHEH`

I did NOT present it like that, i made a suggestion of maybe adding a little bit of magic into the game, i did NOT say the entire game should be magic, i respect and like this game for the fact that it is different and unique from all other war games out there.

If this is in the wrong section then by all means mods can move it, thanks

It's a stupid idea and a stupid thread, why would you even talk about this thing when the game is based in the Napoleonic Era? That's why I was wondering whether you were trolling.

We won't be seeing "magic" in either the NW or BCoF native releases. Of course, you can mod magic into the warband engine relatively easily if you've got an hour or two to pick up Warband code.

Anyone ever play Magic Carpet by Bullfrog?  Excellent game, made in 1994 and the sound effects are still used to this day in commercials.
