The pilot was probably too busy playing Warband to pay attention to the skies.

Edit: May the passengers rest in peace.

Obviously they never secured the cargo properly...amateurs shouldn't be allowed to fly

To be fair, everyone's been an 'amateur' at one point. By that logic, the number of pilots fit to fly would slowly dwindle down to nothing. :-\

This is a tragic accident, something that could have likely been avoided, but mistakes happen. (And yes, they do get people killed.)

“Cargo wasn’t fastened to the deck, so on rotation it all shifted backwards. The aircraft pitched up to 85 deg (basically vertical) and stalled. As you can see, when it crashes, it has basically no forward motion at all. Same as a Fine Air DC-8 crash in Miami in the late 80s / early 90s. As soon as the cargo shifted, the centre of gravity (CofG) made it unflyable, so the pitch up was unrecoverable.” - Sam Chui

Is it safe to assume that these pilots are new? Or would you blame the crew.

Well the flight crew aren't responsible for the payload, so it was most likely the fault of the irresponsible workers at the airport who didn't secure the load properly.

Kudos to the guy that filmed it, at least now the authorities have a clue as to what happened and (hopefully) mistakes like this won't happen again.
