Kylo rens arc was ruined with that awful ending

Yeah his arc was decent until that point lmao, there's so much they could have done with that character.. it's a shame.

My biggest problem with this movie is that they took absolutely no risks whatsoever.

Spoiler
Chewy dead killed by Rey making her contemplate her powers and if she really is destined to be evil? Nah he was on a different ship. C3PO losing his memory and having all the build up to that moment? Nah 20 minutes later he gets it all restored. Woah the emperors lightning takes down the entire rebel fleet? Nah he stops and every ship recovers and destroys a fleet of thousands of star destroyers. Ben Solo thrown down a shaft like his grandpa did to the emperor? Nah he’s back to revive Rey. Rey dies in the ultimate sacrifice and ends the Palpatine line (potentially)? Nah the last Skywalker comes and gives his life so she could live. A power Anakin turned evil to learn and Ben does it outta nowhere.

This movie would have been way better if Rey ended up dying and Ben Solo being the last Skywalker. He could have gone into exile to Tatooine or repayed his debt to society by training the next generation of Jedi, but no of course they don’t have the balls to do that. The ending was so rushed. Didn’t get to enjoy any moment. Palpatine died like a fucking bitch and there was no epic fight. Anakin should have been a part of defeating Palpatine not just his words of encouragement. Wasted opportunities left and right for this movie.

I agree, predictable af all the way through, it's like the director of this movie has 0 balls to make any impacting decisions
dogshit ass movie. dogshit trilogy.
All of the actors are kinda shit but Adam Driver, all of the characters are mostly not likeable, and a lot of the movie just doesn't make sense/doesn't have explanation.
Spoiler
Why tf is her lightsaber yellow at the end of the movie? That shit was dumb as hell.

Well now we know you're not a real star wars fan Wind... Lightsabers come in just about every color of the rainbow. Mace Windu's was purple. And several other Jedi had different colored sabers. For example, Jedi Master Plo Koon used an orange saber.

And any movie can be picked apart from a critical standpoint. But the movie was enjoyable to a majority of fans and viewers, myself included. The movie certainly isn't perfect and few movies ever are. But it is still a good Star Wars movie. And did the best it could with what it had after TLJ. If you didn't like it that's fine, but to go around saying its DOGSHIT is just complete BULLSHIT. TLJ was DOGSHIT. This doesn't even come close to that level of trash. And I'm not sure why everyone wants to act like a fucking movie critic nowadays. Just watch the movie and enjoy it or don't. Don't try and act like you are some master of film and the theatrical arts.

Bruh I know people have different coloured lightsabers lmao you don't need to show me 3 pictures of people using coloured lightsabers. Usually there are reasons as to why certain characters have certain coloured lightsabers.. in Rey's case it seems more just like "hurrr durr yellow iz different and COOL and she the main character so yanno here you go, you're special!" rather than you know maybe explaining why or how she has a yellow lightsaber to begin with. It seems random/pandering as fuck.

I'm pretty sure most people aren't fans of the new movie and actually just the trilogy in general, as you can see from the posts on this thread. Though this is also anecdotal, everyone I know said the movie was meh/shit. This whole trilogy was a disgrace to film/Star Wars and IT IS DOGSHIT. D O G S H I T. Disney fucked up, when do they not? Even Mark Hamill can't say anything good about the movies. You honestly must be braindead if you enjoyed the first two movies to any extent. I'll give this one some credit, it wasn't as bad as the other two, but it certainly still is bad. But yeah, I'm allowed to say the movie is dogshit because that's my opinion, I'm also allowed to say why I think it is a dogshit movie because that is also my opinion. But yeah I'll make sure to not say why I didn't like it next time so I don't get your panties in a twist... To me though the only redeemable thing about this trilogy to me is Kylo Ren/Ben Solo, badass character with a decent arc.

I was implying you are not a real fan because you didn't know they had other color sabers. And the fact that you just watched this whole trilogy within the past week, not because you disliked this movie. Also, we aren't talking about the first 2 movies in this trilogy we are talking about THIS movie so not sure what that has to do with anything. And you said yourself this one was better than the first two.

And I have spoken to at least 20 different people that all said they liked the movie despite its obvious flaws. And to say most people didn't like this movie is complete bullshit considering actual stats prove otherwise.

Out of 40,000 viewers, 86% liked the movie. And that number will only grow.

And apparently a vast majority of viewers and CRITICS disagree with you about the trilogy.

Note that critics loved The Last Jedi (91%). The audience hated it (43%).

I don’t think I have ever met someone who actually consider TFA to be a good movie. Most people I encountered thought it was bad or mediocre

I enjoyed it, although it was just a complete remake of New Hope. I also strongly disliked Rey in it.

Behead those who tarnish the Original Trilogy.
It's the same old thing since 1916
In your head, in your head they're still fighting
With their tanks and their bombs
And air bombs and their guns
In your head, in your head they are dying...

Imo the whole scenario was shit Disney was like „Man Deathstar is getting boring let’s just put an Deathstar fleet into the movie, such a great idea“. But it was not. I mean what is this the whole fleet gets destroyed bc „Finn“ is killing their commando ship with their own weapons. And Palpatine gets completely demolished by Rey??? The just could have added an Deathstar would have been better than an fleet which died in 1 combat

= Star Wars 9 was the complete same movie like Star Wars 6 only with an Deathstar fleet tho

I just wanted to avoid seeing any bad movies which I knew was very likely going into them. It seems to me the people that liked the newest movie/TFA are casual watchers of star wars/kids. I don't really take into account critic scores because movie critics are actually fucked as you can see they gave TFA a 93/100 LMAO when it is a universally shitted on movie by Star Wars fans. This thread does not account for all star wars fans lol. It is a very small minority. Like TINY. And of course, this trilogy was the worst yet. But I don't think that makes it completely horrible. I'm in several star wars groups and forums outside of FSE and I can tell you most fans really did enjoy Rise Of Skywalker. The Force Awakens is a 50/50 with people, and like 90% of people hate TLJ. And these groups are hardcore life long star wars fans like myself. Star Wars is my number one. I watched the original trilogy in theaters when they re-released in 1997 when I was a kid. And I've seen every single one on release day since and I saw the prequels multiple times in theaters. My room is covered in Star Wars posters. And my dad has a massive toy collection of Star Wars. Not even going to mention all the games etc. And guess what, I liked Rise Of Skywalker. And I know tons of old heads that did as well, people that literally grew up with the first release of the original trilogy. Using FSE as your sample size for "real fans" is just dumb man. Look around and I promise you'll see I'm not making this shit up.

Also don't think that I'm saying these movies were amazing. I hated TLJ. I mean really hated it. And I know Force Awakens and Rise Of Skywalker have some horrible flaws. And lack so much when compared to the other trilogies. And they could have been SO much better. But I still enjoyed them. And I think they are still decent Star Wars movies, even if I don't completely agree with them. (TLJ is unredeemable and completely horrible so exclude that from everything I'm saying.)

Yeah that's nice and all but that's also entirely anecdotal.. and here's a bigger sample size for ya if we're showin' videos lol. You're allowed to enjoy those movies though too, just as I'm allowed to not enjoy it and talk shit about it on an internet forum. Curious though as to what you enjoyed about The Rise of Skywalker/what you didn't enjoy. And gimme a /10 rating for TFA and Rise of Skywalker

Honestly TFA was probably the most enjoyable. It was the unknown of what was going to happen. We got introduced to new characters and got to see some of our favorite old characters. Yeah it followed the same plot as ANH but that was to introduce the new generation to Star Wars. I think it felt the most like a Star Wars movie.

It was a pretty good set-up movie. It’s just unfortunate that TLJ kinda tries too hard to be different. It really fucked up the trajectory of the trilogy. I do appreciate the effort to do something different, it just wasn’t executed well. I honestly liked certain parts of that movie a lot.
I’d have removed the Finn and Rose storyline. I would’ve made It so that Luke actually showed up to fight Kylo. Why have him die in the end anyways? That’s what pissed me off.
That Yoda scene was actually fantastic.

Rise of Skywalker is a 7/10. It’s a popcorn flick made to appease most audiences. That’s all it is. It was like the main characters were playing on the easiest difficulty. No risks were taken. Had a ton of potential that was wasted because they were scared to do anything. Marvel knew what they were doing with Infinity War and Endgame. Losses need to happen in order for the ending to mean much of anything.
