Well without the prequels there would be no "Star Wars the clone wars" animated series...

Rented the movie over the weekend, I've watched it twice now, here are some of my thoughts on the movie. I'll definitely buy it, great film.

Contains spoilers
1) FN-2187, as his alias nicknames him, is horrified by the killings at the village called Tuanul, Jakku. He is disturbed when his friend dies in his arms, and refuses to take part in the killing of all the townsfolk, who had been rounded up in the square. It doesn't really make sense when, he and Poe are escaping in the ship, that he killed his own men with the turret? I mean, he was raised to a be a stormtrooper from birth, so I don't understand why he would kill his own comrades, after having that embarassing incident at Tuanul.

2) For me, the relationship between Finn and Poe builds up way too fast. Finn was, from birth, raised to be a stormtrooper, brainwashed into thinking that the First Order was his life. Why would he give it all up for this Poe person? And they've only known each other for 4 minutes, and they're already best friends.

1) I've been reading some theories on where Rey is from. A particular one that peaked my interest was that she is really the daughter of Luke Skywalker. I mean, how else could she have such power, even becoming stronger than Kylo Ren?

A smuggler befriends a big hairy thing and you're confused as to how Finn and Poe get friendly?

I'm not confused about the relationship itself, but how fast they became friendly.

It's war. They depend on each other for survival or they die right quick.

You should be more confused about Rey and Leia being best friends in the end of the movie.

Even though they have never met before.

Really? I didn't get that impression in the movie.

They hug each other after Han is dead. Which makes absolutely no sense, given that Chewie is right next to her. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAnnnnnnnnd that they have never met before.
Even Fin would be a better choice than Rey...

but what if Rey is Luke's daughter? Then I think it would make sense.

How does Leia know about that?
Why does she not tell anyone?

She can probably sense that Rey is a Skywalker, since Leia is also force sensitive and a Skywalker as well. In the Disney timeline of Star Wars she decided to lead the resistance instead of training in the force ( as she did in the original canon before Disney came along and scraped all of that)

If that was the case it would be hinted in the movie. He got a good point there, I forgot that part.
