I think you also have to be unique.

Using our regiment as an example, while we are the 9y Leib Gvardii...there are no ranks. No one person is better than the other although we do have different roles.

We also don't recruit in public servers really, induction is all by reccomendation or we know of you. This allows us to not only stay as a community of friends but also keeps our skill high. We've done really well in NA events so far.

People look for skill+something unique, I would start with that.

What you're describing sound more like a clan than a regiment. Also not all people look for skill, some people join regiments so they can be the best melee player in it because they want to satisfy their e-peen.

New regiments don't really matter anymore in this community

Basically the only good regiments were the major regiments last summer, or it's a group of people who left one of those major regiments.

It's pointless in my opinion to make a reg

New regiments are needed, to keep the community going. If there were only a few major regiments, then there would much smaller line battle's, events, and people would loose interest in the game. Sometimes people like it when they can be focused on, instead of being in a line of 40+ men and the officers don't know who's who.

Napoleon has a fair point. Personally, I think that line infantry regiments seem to get it the worst; the discipline required is exceptional and there isn't much of an opportunity for the officers to integrate with the line itself during the event seeing as they have to focus on the battle as a whole. It's a shame, but it doesn't give them much time to get to know their members in contrast to Rifles, Light Infantry, Artillery, etc.

I kind of disagree with you there Neuron, I lead a line of 20-25 and we remain disciplined in Linebattles, yet we still talk and have banter and stuff. Also a lot of our "getting to know each other" takes place after the Linebattles, where we stay around in teamspeak to chat and play other games
