Title: 84th Infanterie d'régiment [NA - recruiting!]

Hello!

The 84thIDR was formed in August 2012 in hopes of getting a Multiplayer mode in the game "The Trench:1916" (http://www.thetrench1916.com/). Our efforts were without hope, but we wanted to try anyway. We started participating in a few Realism battles in WWI: Source, and we were eagerly anticipating Iron Europe. We were the 2nd regiment to reserve a name in Iron Europe, all the way back on the Taleworlds thread! Now that it is out, we will be attending events with it. In addition to our experience with WWI: Source, we have experience in the mod Blood and Iron, and Verdun!

We are not a full realism unit, however we do follow a somewhat realistic French rank system. We will not make up random ranks, and to advance up the ranks does require some skill and dedication. On that note however, we are not extremely strict and at the end of the day are playing this to have fun. We do expect however that rules are followed, and that you listen to the commanding officer during trainings and events.

We are a French regiment based in North America. If you are interested in joining the regiment, please join the Steam Group. You also need to add me, Illuminati. I also run a Wednesday Siege event, and a popular Saturday Night Linebattle in Napoleonic Wars!

Long story short it was a naming compromise with Aldemar back when his 84e existed. It's stuck since.

I don't really care if people laugh. Long story short, this is a compromise name Aldemar and I came up with back in November/December 2012 as he wanted to reserve the name 84e, although I already had. So we compromised. The name was his idea not mine, it has stuck since. Do I really care if people laugh? Nah. Do I care if people are jerks about it, a bit yeah.

Well considering there were some drawn out heated talks, and well, nasty things said by both sides, it was for the best. My regiment has still stuck around, even after all of that, so that's what matters the most I suppose.

That's all I feel like saying publicly. I really don't feel like reopening old wounds on both sides, so if you're really curious for the full story just PM me. It doesn't deserve to see the public light of day any more, it's the past. I would really like to keep it that way.

For NW I've got the 8th, been with them since 2011. Good times, good times.

The fact that it is 84th isn't funny itself. The funny thing is that if you translate the name it's "84th Infantry of Regiment" or "84th Foot of Regiment". It doesn't make sense.

I just look at it as "84th Infantry Regiment" myself :P
