A little history of the 1er Batallion de Ligne "Belge"

The 1er Batallion de Ligne "Belge" (The Orange Legion) was the 1st of 9 line infantry battalions and 2 light infantry battalions raised in September 1814. All these battalions were composed of a headquarters and six companies, including two flankers, and a deposit. The strength of each battalion was 30 officers and 912 enlisted men.
