Regiments / ♞7th Queen's Own Hussars ( Old Saucy Seventh )

"Oni soit qui mal y pense, Evil upon him who evils thinks"

[/quote]

Their Brigade Commander was the late Commanding Officer, Major General Sir Hussey Vivian and the Colonel of the Regiment General Henry Paget, Lord Uxbridge was overall commander of the entire British Cavalry. On the eve of the Battle of Waterloo the 7th were honoured by Uxbridge by being given the charge on the advancing enemy, the French 2nd regiment of lancers (Colonel Sourd's (fr)) in the action at Genappe.[1] After a spirited and fearless succession of charges only nineteen of the 120 men of the 7th Hussar squadron were left in the saddle. For the Battle of Waterloo itself, the 7th were on the extreme right of the allied line, 300 yards north of the Chateau of Hougoumont. Until 5pm they were not used, but then they charged more than twelve times. Standish O'Grady, 2nd Viscount Guillamore, then a lieutenant in the 7th Hussars mentions is a letter to his father:

"We charged twelve or fourteen times, and once cut off a squadron of cuirassiers, every man of whom we killed on the spot except the two officers and one Marshal de Logis, whom I sent to the rear".[2]

In 24 hours the 7th Hussars had lost two Officers killed, and eleven wounded, sixty two other ranks killed and 109 wounded, while Uxbridge lost his leg to enemy artillery.

Regiments / 123rd Outram's Rifles
« on: July 05, 2014, 11:19:56 pm »

Welcome to the 123rd Outram's Rifles
We are the 123rd Outram's Rifles, we strive to create an active and friendly community around our regiment in Mount & Blade Napoleonic Wars. To us, it is more about enjoying ourselves throughout our battles and have a good time, rather then feel restricted by harsh discipline. We will be mainly playing as skirmishers, but also as light and line infantry, to ensure variation and enjoyment.

History of the regiment
The 123rd Outram's rifles traced its origins to the 12th Regiment of Bombay Native Infantry, part of the British East India Company's Bombay Army. It fought in the Battle of Khadki on 5 November 1817 in the Third Anglo-Maratha War and became the regiment's 1st Battalion in 1820.

The regiment took part in the First Anglo-Afghan War in 1839. Just before the Indian Mutiny began in 1857, the 123rd took part in the Anglo-Persian War between 1856-1857. During the Indian Mutiny, the regiment remained loyal, like nearly all of the Bombay Army.

The regiment took part in the Second Anglo-Afghan War from 1879 and the Third Anglo-Burmese War from 1885 to the end of the war in 1887. The regiment saw service against Mohammed bin Abdullah, known as "Mad Mullah" to the British, and his followers in British Somaliland. After the Kitchener reforms of the Indian Army, it became the 123rd Outram's Rifles. The renaming was in honour of Lieutenant-General Sir James Outram who had served with the regiment as its first adjutant.

Regiments / 41st Royal Welsh Rifles (Invalids) [Recruiting EU]
« on: June 08, 2014, 06:34:03 pm »

We are the 41st Royal Welsh Invalids, we strive to create an active and friendly community around our regiment in Mount & Blade Napoleonic Wars. To us, it is more about enjoying ourselves throughout our battles and have a good time, rather then feel restricted by harsh discipline. We will be training and playing as both line and light-infantry, to ensure variation and enjoyment.

History of the regiment

The 41st Royal Welsh Invalids was first raised in 1719 by Edmund Fielding. He drew its troops from independent companies of invalids - those otherwise considered too ill, old or injured for active service. To these he added men who received a pension from the Royal Hospital Chelsea but lived in their own homes, known as out-pensioners.

Until 1787 the unit was garrisoned in the naval base of Portsmouth. But in 1812, the unit was sent to Canada to take part in the War of 1812, in which it gained four of it's eleven batlle honours. It took part in the battle of Detroit and fought on board ship at the Battle of Lake Erie in September 1813.

In the 1820s it fought in Burma and in 1831 it was finally given a territorial title, becoming the 41st (Welch) Regiment of Foot.

Service during the 1st Afghan War (1839-42) followed, including Kanadahar, Guznee and Kabul. The regiment then saw action in the Crimean War (1854-56). It gained battle honours for the Alma, Inkerman and Sevastopol, won two Victoria Crosses and brought home its first ever goat mascot, a tradition continued by all its successor regiments.

Events: EU / Cav Event
« on: May 13, 2014, 12:19:31 am »
how does this sound to you Guys ??

its just somehting im toying with as taking a week off from the regular line battles and host a CAV only, where even inf will have to go cav.
of course you will have to select 2/3 diff terrained maps.
imagine the line up of 100 v 100 cavelry thundering over the plains, into the valley of death.
I feel it would contribute to the NaS community as something a bit diff tht can maybe be done once in a while to break the routine and play on diff maps.

thoughts plz

this could be for NW or NaS mods

Events: EU / Historical Event
« on: April 28, 2014, 01:34:02 pm »
Hi guys i am wondering does anyone do this kind of Historical event, by this i mean the maps  and not the regiments , as some regiments may not sign up for the certain event,..

I am looking for something where ppl dont just run around everywhere etc etc.

I played one once in NaS and we all marched in columns and then there was a huge LB and  one team started to retreat but in an orderly fashion lol.

But what im trying to say is there anything like this  where ppl march etc, i know its a bit more disciplined and more than some players can handle, but im just wondering.

Thankyou in advance.
