WHAT IS WORLD WAR 3?

World War 3 is a multiplayer military FPS set in a modern, global conflict. Strong teamplay, national armed forces, real locations, full body awareness, and a versatile customization system all contribute to the authenticity of the modern combat experience enhanced by other essential elements such as a robust ballistic system, advanced armors and life-like weapons.

Produced in cooperation with military R&D centers and consultants, World War 3 shows the consequences of every battle in the context of a global war campaign on a strategic war map.

TWO GAME MODES

World War 3 presents a modern conflict with tactics, techniques and procedures inspired by true combat engagements. All of this packed into two exciting game modes. Warzone offers opportunities for dynamic, intense firefights in teamwork-focused battles of infantry and armored units over fortified points. The tactically-oriented Recon allows players to cooperate within small reconnaissance squads left on their own to survive and capture high-value targets in hostile territory. Together these modes create a coherent gameplay experience aimed at presenting the actual feel of modern warfare.

We are happy to announce the first edition of EIC's Groupfighting tournament. A regimental Groupfighting tournament just like RGL.

Season 2 of EIC was a good place to start in terms of 3 main things:

1. Seeding Groups - The best way possible to seed the groups while keeping it competitive for everyone
2. Tournament Format - The format that would best be used to maximize the enjoyment yet competitiveness of EIC
3. Skill Levels - Seeing how regiments perform in the first edition (ik its season 2) of the tournament being under this format.
Which will give us a better idea of how to seed further seasons and this.

What can we expect to see differently in the format?

We feel as though making the groups 5 in size, rather than 4, with the bottom regiment not advancing to either the upper, nor lower brackets.
I feel as though this gives abit more incentive to play the best that you can in the group stages. As currently you are on a win-win in some form no matter what the outcome is.

Group Stage - Bo20 - Theres no point in doing groups if you can't draw?

Play-Offs - FT15

The minimum attendance will be 12, not 15.

Start date?
Late July, Early August. 1 month after EIC Season 2 ends.

Why are you already looking to create another tournament before your last one ends? What about RGL?

Obviously I can't speak for everyone, but after speaking to alot of leaders, there's not a ton of love for the standard League formatting. I think this is because of no matter what, you can expect to be lumped in with regiments strictly out of your caliber. Whereas with the EIC format, theres alot more freedom for even groups where everyone has a chance to come out on top of a bracket. Obviously we have to make do with the list of regiments that sign up.

There are also a few regiments out there that did not participate in EIC Season 2 that would most likely be up for this (K-KA for example). So I just want to show that we are giving some love out to those who enjoy Groupfighting abit more than 1v1's, even if personally as a leader I enjoy a more intimate style of gameplay, such as leading 1v1's.

Hence, why we are announcing this now. Just to let everyone know to expect it.

Señor, I have a question/Suggestion

Feel free to let us know that you are interested, or have a suggestion on what we could do differently in the groupfighting edition. Not just in terms of format, but any suggestions that may be interesting on top of the regular GF format.

Roster Rules:
Group Stages:

People may move regiments freely without a match ban. As long as they are added before the next weekly update stated below.
Double regging with other EIC regiments is of course strictly forbidden.
Playoffs:
Quarter Final: Players moving from another EIC regiment to a new one will receive a 1 match ban.

Players joining EIC regiments will also receive a 1 match ban.
This will all obviously be on a case by case basis.
Updates:

Rosters will be updated EVERY FRIDAY.
This means regiments will NOT be able to update their rosters on the day of a match. Unless advised otherwise.
The mod team will keep an updated PUBLIC list of all rosters and GUID's on a Google doc which is published on this thread.
In the event of a moderator not updating a regiments roster in time, the regiment will be able to play those players
^^ONLY if they are not receiving a match ban (Playoffs only)^^
Finals:

During the Semi Final and Final there will be NO more transfers between EIC regiments.
This does not count for members who are joining EIC for the first time.

Secondary Accounts:

This is something we feel went some what un-noticed in NWL Season 9. The regiments that did this, generally gained nothing from it.
However, we still feel as though we shouldn't just turn a blind eye. It draws away from the community aspect of the tournament. So we will be studying regiments steam groups and rosters before accepting them.
Any regiments that are caught with players such as this, will find their immediate removal from EIC.

Introduction

The European Infantry Cup is a standard 2 stage tournament with the first stage being a Round Robin Group Stage followed by 2 back to back Play Offs with an upper and a lower bracket. There are 4 groups, A,B,C and D consisting of 4 regiment each. The top 2 placing regiments of each group will proceed to the single elimination knockout-Upper Bracket competing for first and second place. The remaining 2 regiments of each group will proceed to the lower knockout bracket to compete for third place.

With 2 separate brackets EIC offers an equal, competitive skill level with a chance to take one of the top spots to all regiments no matter the skill level.

Group Stages: Best of 10 rounds.
Play Offs: Best of 10 rounds. In the event of a 5-5 draw, the match will continue as a Best of 4 rounds, continuously, with a side swap every 2 rounds until a regiment reaches 3 rounds.
There can be no draws in a knockout.

European Infantry Cup / European Infantry Cup - Season 5 - Rules

Rules

Matchdays

Matches should be completed on a weekly basis from the start of the tournament, but for Season 5 we are being more lenient. For this season, there will be specific deadlines. For example, 6 weeks from start to complete all group stage matches. This means if you require, you can postpone your match by a week or two if required. Please make sure that if this is required, you agree a date with your opponents and inform the EIC admin team so that they can make notes. Matches can only be postponed ONCE for a maximum of 2 weeks. If you cannot attend the match after postponing, you will be delivered a 0-10 forfeit. When organising a postpone for a match there must be a good reason. If you are refusing to play a match because you would rather attend Trenchbattle for example, you will be removed from EIC. All regiments are expected to shift regular events around to make time for EIC.

Teams should be on the server no later than 10 minutes from the start of the event. So if the event starts at 7pm, you should be there by 7:10 or receive a 0-10 forfeit. If you need a little extra time to gather people on the server, referees will give you an extra 5 minutes. So 7:15 is the hard cut-off before the reff forces the match to start.
Withdraws

If a regiment withdraws from the cup, all opponents will receive a 10-0 Victory. Including matches that have already been completed.
Fire In Charge

A charge is considered once a regiments formation has been broken or contact has been initiated. Contact is considered once 1 or more members of a regiment has blocked a stab, broken formation or melee damage has been dealt. Breaking of formation is considered once ranker moves more than 2 Men spacing from his formation.

If Fire in Charge occurs, the admin will slay and NOT revive. Reviving causes too much disruption once a melee has been initiated. If 3 or more people are shot in charge, the victim regiment may ask for a reset. This however is naturally dependant on the situation and the call of the attending referees. For cases of FiC during an officer Rambo situation, please see Officer Rules & OA section.

Movement in Formation
No more than 2-3 man gaps in between the players. Once your line starts moving out all firing must stop or slays will be issued. Reloading when the line is moving is considered fine, as long as they do not break the 2-3 man gap rule. So for example, as long as they join onto the back of the line this is not considered RoL.

When you are moving any more than the stated 3 man gaps will receive a warning from a referee. Repeat offences will result in slays.

Gaps While Firing

Reload -> Fix -> Shoot. In that order. Gaps must be fixed before your players can fire. While shooting there should be no more than half man gaps in between players. Firing without fixing the gap will be given a warning, failure to listen to this warning will result in a slay of the player(s). No crouching, jumping or moving behind your line to avoid being shot. If you need to be warned about this multiple times individually, you will be removed from the event and receive a 1 match ban. This is a rule that for some reason a few individuals of a few regiments cannot follow and will no longer be tolerated.
Officer Rules & OA

Officers must follow the same spacing rules as rankers when firing. Officers must be standing to the side of their line with no more than 3 men spacing. If the officer is in front of a line that is either advancing or running at their opponents in column, this is NOT considered officer aim. The officer unit cannot be used to shield rankers from being shot, for example when doing a reverse column, if the officer is shot while running next to the line, this is not considered officer aim. If this happens, a revive can be issued (as long as melee has not begun) but there will be no round resets.

When in charge the officer should still be following spacing rules, therefor he must be within 3 spaces of his closest ranker, unless that ranker is far away from his line/ramboing. The officer must be with his main body of troops. If an officer breaks the 3 men spacing rule and breaks the formation of a shooting enemy regiment, this will NOT be considered Fire in Charge depending on the situation. This is to prevent the rampant officer Rambo which has become more and more of an issue.

However, even if you think that the opposing officer committed Rambo on your regiment, you must still STOP firing once melee has begun. Otherwise the referee will have difficulty dealing with the issue. If a referee observes a successful Rambo attempt which results in Fire in Charge, they are to play advantage. For example, if the receiving regiment is still up in numbers then the referee can let the round play out until the end where that regiment can dispute the round if needed. Or if the receiving regiment is at a disadvantage in numbers, they can request a reset.

Officers cannot delay or avoid contact by running away, or behind his opponents line. He must stay with his main body of players, within the 3 man spacing rule limits. Failure to abide by this will result in a slay.

Units

Only regular line infantry classes should be used. No guard, lights or Skirmishers. Also no musicians, flag bearers or Surgeons. Freikorps is ok as its considered a line infantry unit.

2 Officers is fine, as long as its agreed upon by both sides.

Attendance

Minimum of 15 and a maximum of 35. Only a 1 man majority is allowed over the enemy regiment. If one regiment brings less than 15, the opponent regiment is allowed to field 15. The 1 man majority rule does not apply. You do not need to balance after the 30 second spawn period.

During the play offs there will be NO 1 man Majority. Unless a regiment does not bring 15.

Camp Timer

The camp timer will be remaining at 5 minutes as of Season 4. However, from Season 5 we will now allow regiments to pre agree a shorter camp timer if that’s what they wish. So as the same with using 2 officers, if both regiments agree the camp timer can be reduced to a minimum of 2 minutes. Please speak to the referee attending the match to accommodate this. Unless both regiments agree to a specific time, it will stay at 5 minutes. 5 Minutes is the maximum, it can be shortened to the lowest of 2 minutes on request but not extended.

If both regiments agree, the referee can call a meet in the middle. This does not require use of the camp timer and can be called whenever a regiment chooses to. Both regiments must agree to this or the match continues as normal.

Chat

All chat is welcomed, however if it is only being used to insult/instigate vs other players or the referee, that referee reserves the right to mute all chat for the remaining duration of the match. Failure to abide by this rule will result in slays and/or a ban depending on the nature of said messages. If you are being racist in all chat expect a temp ban from the server, then if required a temporary ban from further matches depending on severity and number of warnings received.

Regiment leaders can request to ban all chat. This does not need to be agreed upon by both sides.

Referee's

A referee's decision is final. They must be unbiased and will abide by the rules. They will also carry out the map veto on the server. More on this below.
Server Admin

Every regiments leaders will have access to the admin password. You may ask for your 2iC to have it as well. You may only use it on your own regiment, unless you are unable to find a ref, then you may ref the match yourself. Decide that among you and your opponent. ONLY if a video is recorded.  No video, your complaints will be ignored.

Map Veto's

There are a total of 5 Custom maps in EIC. The map that will be played on is veto'd by the teams. This means that each team bans a map until one is left.
For example:
Team 1 Ban -> Team 2 Ban -> Team 1 Ban -> Team 2 Ban -> Leftover Map Played

Maps are below

Rules regarding players are on the Rosters & Referees thread.

"Last Changing Times tournament has been hosted long enough ago so I can think about another edition to happen. While being really happy with the current state of the community where many events are currently being hosted, back to back, it also forces Me to announce this tournament a bit sooner than I had wish to make sure the date doesn't conflict with another competition. I considered all the different formats and eventually had to rule out 1v1, 2v2, 4v4, 5v5 or 9v9 as they have been played too recently or are yet to be hosted this month.

Without further ado, I am happy to present you the 7v7 Groupfighting Tournament - 'Changing Times', third edition of a series which I hope being able to pursue for quite some times." - Tardet

As Tardet currently isn´t in the mood of performing this tournament, I as the co-host took the decision to run the tournament in honor of Tardet. I hope that Knightmare and I are able to achieve a tournament with the same standards Tardet would´ve had in order to continue the "Changing Times"- Series.

Modifications / Closed Crosshair Script - Halp
« on: January 18, 2018, 12:36:27 pm »
So I have an old closed crosshair script that a friend made me, which I put into my regiments skin pack.

http://www.mediafire.com/file/glkzx6daszb9a1i/scripts.txt

Is anyone competent enough to be able to help me update this to the latest patch? I am terrible with these things or I would do it :/ I don't imagine its alot of work if you know what you are doing but any help would be appreciated :D

Well ladies, its that time of the year again. Myself and Herishey are proud to bring you the 8th Regimental Groupfighting tournament.
This is myself and Herishey's 5th season at the helm and we would like to thank all who hosted before us.

Tournament Date: Sunday 18th March
 6:30GMT Unless Told Otherwise

Rules

1. Rules are the standard for a groupfight. Teamhitting, Teamkilling or just general trolling will result in your teams immediate removal from the tournament. Admins are to be listened too at all times.

2. Matches will be ft5 during the group-stage, matches will be ft7 during the knock-out stage and ft10 in the finals.

3. There will be a group-stage and a knock-out stage (there will be 4groups of 4 regiments).

4. Rosters will be locked 30 minutes before the event. Players can not be taken off or added after this unless under extreme circumstances (Highly unlikely).

5a. All participants must have been in your regiment for at least 7 days.

6. Only use of the 45e and 33rd units. Its a simple rule to follow, anyone caught another unit will be slayed even if it is during a round.
