That would double the workload and thus make moderators less willing to hand out due punishments. The rules are there for people to understand.
Yeah but nobody reads the rules

You kinda have to agree with those when you join. You think a real life court would you let you go after doing something illegal and you weren't aware it was illegal because you didn't read the law?
im not the only one who didn't read them  :P
And? Your point being?
Maybe dont make it so that everyone posts on it, but rather just explain why a certain someone was banned. Maybe helps people to understand how to behave, and if not they are simply trolls that should be banned anyway.
People who didn't read the rules can find out how to behave on the forum by reading the reasons why certain people were warned/muted/banned

The thing is that the rules are not that consistent. Different Mods punish differently.

The rules are consistent. Punishments maybe a little less, but that's no excuse.

Although I agree with Duuring that this would double the workload, I also find it reasonable to ask/know for what reason people are banned, muted, etc. I mean, you should be able to just ask here, and have an administrator respond to it, and that's it. No arguing about whether it was fair or just for that matter, just a short explanation, a short statement so people know. Might also make people like Dazzer aware of what BS he can't pull off on the forums, and saves you from having to mute him 3 times in one month. I'm either way okay with the decision, just thought I'd help out a little.
