History The 4th regiment of line also known as the 4e regiment of Line Infantry was a polish regiment in the Napoleonic Wars. The regiment had fought in the Peninsular campaign with its greatest victory at Battle of Fuengirolathe. The British with a force of 3,501 British 1,000 Spanish failed to take the fort held by the Polish at Fuengirola, Spain. They had lost 40, 70 wounded and 200 prisoners including Lord Blarney. The regiment continued to fight in the Peninsular campaign and even as Poland was taken had stayed loyal to Emperor Napoleon. The regiment was taken over by the Russian empire after Napoleon's exile to Elba. It's leader Major Walerian Łukasiński was sentenced to 14 years in a Siberian prison and later was committed to life imprisonment. The regiment was often punished by walking many days through the freezing winter and not allowed to sleep or eat. The regiment was pushed around by the Russian empire to a breaking point where it had taken the Polish side in the November Uprising. The regiment was completely wiped out the Battle of Warsaw in 1831.
