Regimental Introduction

Hello! The 1er are a new and growing community, comprised of mostly friends from real life and people that have known each-other for quite some time now. We are a welcoming and friendly unit who prizes teamwork, cooperation and respect above all else. We are not super strict nor super relaxed and try to balance it somewhere in the middle. We fight for the Empire of France and we enjoy every second of it. We try to stay active but we don't want to ruin your social life so we will float around 3-5 events a week. You are require to make at-least 2 event's a week but if for some reason you can't just message an officer and make sure they know.

Ever since the great Jihad Wars went down I knew I had to make a new version of this mod. So far I have only done Austria so I still have a long ways to go but I will be  trying to finish this mod before Christmas.
It will replace the majority of battlecries, round ending sounds and possibly I might replace the musket sounds with AK's and cannons RPG's.

Modifications / Sound Modding Help
« on: November 24, 2014, 01:41:27 am »
Alright, so I had the idea for a mod that replaced the warcries with random Arabic sounds such as "ALLAH AAKBARRR". I did some asking and told a few things and I've done pretty much everything and it's not working. I did a small test for Austria and replaced all the Austrian chants with the new sounds I've created.

(heres a side by side compare)
Left one is normal, right one is modded
[close]
Does anyone know why this is not working? All I am getting is regular German chants but they don't even exist in the sounds foldier anymore.

I just noticed all the other sounds were chants and replaced them, but it is still giving me the normal chants. I was looking around and found a Readme txt document and it said this:

You can place your sounds in this folder
and make the game read them by putting:

scan_module_sounds = 1

directive in module_info.txt

I'm pretty new when it comes to this stuff, so mabey someone could explain to me exactly what that means  :P

If there is already a thread let me know and I will lock this one.

About The Game
Amid the post-war boom of Hollywood's Golden Age, Cole Phelps is an LAPD detective thrown headfirst into a city drowning in its own success. Corruption is rampant, the drug trade is exploding, and murder rates are at an all-time high. In his fight to climb the ranks and do what's right, Phelps must unravel the truth behind a string of arson attacks, racketeering conspiracies and brutal murders, battling the L.A. underworld and even members of his own department to uncover a secret that could shake the city to its rotten core.

Using groundbreaking new animation technology that captures every nuance of an actor's facial performance in astonishing detail, L.A. Noire is a violent crime thriller that blends breathtaking action with true detective work to deliver an unprecedented interactive experience. Search for clues, chase down suspects and interrogate witnesses as you struggle to find the truth in a city where everyone has something to hide.

I just recently finished the game and I have to say even though it is a little old, if you don't have it and it goes on sale on of these days you must buy it. In my 20 hours alone of gameplay I have dozens of screenshots ranging from the hilarious jokes about Communism or about the main characters experiences in WW2. You need to buy the game and see it for your self. Feel free to post any screenshots or share your stories about the game.

Terran Motto: "Loyalty Until Death, Strength in Unity"
Unit Motto:"Better red than dead!"

Planetside 2 Information

Really only if your new to the game..
Battles take place not between dozens of troops, but thousands; with air and ground vehicles slugging it out alongside squads of troops. Whether in open fields, tightly packed urban centers or enormous structures, planning, teamwork and communication are essential.

PlanetSide 2 features incredible continent maps with dozens of square kilometers of seamless gameplay space; every inch of which is hand-crafted, contestable space. With the territorial control meta-game, landmass has intrinsic value.

Terran Republic Information

The Terran Republic (TR) is an empire with a rich history extending 1,112 years, and the originator of the other two empires. They brought order out of chaos and introduced the world to an era of peace. Since the armistice and the formation of the new government, and as the singular political force on Earth, they set up an open and transparent Government. This helped keep the peace for nearly two hundred years.

The Terran Republic is built around order and the rule of law, with the central tenet that no individual is above the rules. Loyalty and fealty are core to the Terran Republic ethos and from that grows a spirit of total camaraderie and brotherhood amongst its proud and mighty warriors. More so than any other empire, the TR are a professional military. They are the most synergistic of the teams and benefit the most from numbers and coordination. A well drilled squad of Terran Republic troops is one of the most fearsome and deadly forces you’ll ever meet on the battlefields of Auraxis.

We took on the title of marauders due to our play style, we get into combat with any ride we can catch, show up and try to take as much ground as possible and then get out of there when things start getting bad.

111e Hussars Introduction

Hello! the 111e Hussars are a new and growing semi-dedicated french hussar regiment. We are both skilled in cavalry and infantry and we always try to do our best in events. We will go cavalry whenever we can in events, although sometimes we may have to go line or not attend, we take a vote before on if we should stay of not. We are always looking for fresh meat and anyone who is willing to take up the arts of cavalry and actual skill based regimental gameplay. If you are looking to enlist, or just want to come to feel free to add me on Steam

111e Hussars History

It was created as the hussards Colonel Général on 31 July 1783 for the Duke of Chartres, by taking one squadron from each of the Bercheny, Chamborant, Conflans and Esterhazy regiments of hussars. On 30 May 1788 it was reinforced by a contingent of soldiers taken from the régiment de Quercy, régiment de Septimanie, régiment de Nassau, régiment de La Marck, régiment de Franche-Comté and régiment des Évéchés, all then cavalry units.
The hussars played a prominent role as cavalry in the Napoleonic Wars (1796–1815). As light cavalrymen mounted on fast horses, they would be used to fight skirmish battles and for scouting. Most of the great European powers raised hussar regiments. The armies of France, Austria, Prussia, and Russia had included hussar regiments since the mid-18th century. In the case of Britain four light dragoon regiments were converted to hussars in 1806–1807.
Hussars were notoriously impetuous, and Napoleon was quoted as stating that he would be surprised for a hussar to live beyond the age of 30 due to their tendency to become reckless in battle, exposing their weaknesses in frontal assaults. The hussars of Napoleon created the tradition of sabrage, the opening of a champagne bottle with a sabre. Moustaches were universally worn by Napoleonic period hussars, the British hussars were the only moustachioed troops in the British Army—leading to their being taunted as being "foreigners" at times. French hussars also wore cadenettes, braids of hair hanging either side of the face, until the practice was officially proscribed when shorter hair became universal.

Some information on Hussar Uniforms
The uniform of the Napoleonic hussars included the pelisse: a short fur edged jacket which was often worn slung over one shoulder in the style of a cape, and was fastened with a cord. This garment was extensively adorned with braiding (often gold or silver for officers) and several rows of multiple buttons. Under it was worn the dolman or tunic which was also decorated in braid.
On active service the hussar normally wore reinforced breeches which had leather on the inside of the leg to prevent them from wearing due to the extensive time spent in the saddle. On the outside of such breeches, running up the outside was a row of buttons, and sometimes a stripe in a different colour. A shako or fur kolpac (busby) was worn as headwear. The colours of dolman, pelisse and breeches varied greatly by regiment, even within the same army.
The French hussar of the Napoleonic period was armed with a brass hilted sabre, a carbine and sometimes with a brace of pistols, although these were often unavailable. The British hussar was armed, in addition to his firearms, with the 1796 pattern light cavalry sabre.
A famous military commander in Bonaparte's army who began his military career as a hussar was Marshal Ney, who after being employed as a clerk in an iron works joined the 5th Hussars in 1787. He rose through the ranks of the hussars in the wars of Belgium and the Rhineland (1794–1798) fighting against the forces of Austria and Prussia before receiving his marshal's baton in 1804 after the Emperor Napoleon's coronation.

      2e Artillery Introduction

Hello! The 2e are a tightly knit community, comprised of mostly friends from real life and people that have known eachother for quite some time now. We are an artillery regiment because I personally barely see any sort of artillery units and since it is so low maintenance there is really no reason is not doing it. As said earlier, we mostly all know each-other on a good basis and are accepting people if they are willing to accept that we are a group that does not attend more then 2-3 events a week.

      Enlisting

Enlisting in the 2e is very easy, all you have to do is add me on steam and we can talk.

Thread is still a pretty big WIP, since all is is right now is just a copy&paste from the 4e Hussars thread.

CREDITS: Thank you to the super old AGI thread for the pictures, they will serve well. Purple Panda for the header.

      Regiments / 1. Lutzow's Freikorps Bataillon [NA]
      « on: February 24, 2014, 12:20:34 am »
*Not my regiment, just maintaining the thread for the leader.*

      Introduction

This regiment is a  new, North American/European Napoleonic Wars regiment. We are a small and steadily growing group that is very easy to fit in-to. We are very relaxed and understanding, you will not regret joining us. You can be a dirty casual or veteran player it does not matter, we accept all who are willing to commit to our cause and re-living the glory of the 1. Lutzow's Freikorps

      History

      Freikorps Officer

The unit was officially founded in February 1813 as Königlich Preußisches Freikorps von Lützow (Royal Prussian Free Corps von Lützow). Lützow, who had been an officer under the ill-fated Ferdinand von Schill, obtained permission from the Prussian Chief-of-Staff Gerhard von Scharnhorst to organize a free corps consisting of infantry, cavalry, and Tyrolean Jäger (literally, “hunters” ― i.e., marksmen, snipers), for flank attacks and guerrilla warfare behind the French lines. Volunteers were to be drawn from all over Germany (including Austria) to fight against Napoleon I of France; it was hoped that this broadly national force would aid in rallying the smaller German governments into the ranks of the Allies.
The Corps has been alleged to have consisted mostly of students and academics; however, in reality these amounted to no more than 12% of the total force, which was actually composed mostly of craftsmen and laborers. Besides the well-known Saxon dramatist and poet Carl Theodor Körner, the Corps also included academics, writers, and other well known figures, such as Georg Friedrich Kersting, Friedrich Friesen, Joseph von Eichendorff, and Friedrich Ludwig Jahn. The educator Friedrich Fröbel, who later developed the concept of the Kindergarten, also belonged to the Lützowers. In addition, at least two women, Eleonore Prochaska and Anna Lühring, had managed to join in disguise.
The Tyroleans, whose leaders Jakob Riedl and Joseph Ennemoser had fought with Andreas Hofer for the liberation of Tyrol since 1809, came into the Lützow Corps after the armistice of Summer 1813.
Because the Kingdom of Prussia already had problems financing and equipping its regular forces, the volunteers had to equip and supply themselves by their own means. Many times civilian clothing or old uniforms ― even enemy uniforms taken as booty ― were simply dyed. Black was therefore used for their uniforms rather than the normal Prussian blue, because this was the only color that could be used to dye the improvised clothing (if any other had been used, the clothing's original color would have shown through, resulting in an unacceptable mix of colors for the Corps as a whole). The quality of the material often left much to be desired.
For similar reasons of economy, a civilian-style trench coat, the so-called litewka or Polish frock coat ― double-breasted, without a tail-slit ― was chosen for infantry and rifle detachments, and later extended to the artillery. The tunic was black, as were the trousers, with red trim chosen for the rank insignia along the collar, cuffs, epaulets, and front edge of the tunic; on officers’ uniforms, collars and cuffs were faced in velvet. On the tunic’s front, eight embossed brass buttons were arranged in two vertical rows.
Volunteers with particular skills were allowed to transfer to special units with their own uniforms. Hussars and lancers (uhlans) wore dolman jackets, often brought from their former units, dyed black (as were the hussars’ pelisses). Hussars and lancers wore only black and white, the red being omitted. Officers’ uniforms carried silver cords, rather than white, and were in addition trimmed with black fur. Lützow himself wore the black hussar uniform.
