It was decided amongst the staff that the continued use of GIF avatars and signatures was getting out of hand..Many were using very disturbing/distracting and so on images... That made the forum look extremely unprofessional, lagged certain browsers and so forth.Multiple solutions were thought about, like reviewing and moderating signatures, but this was deemed as too much work..It was decided to simply not allow any GIF images to be used in these area's.. Excuses for the inconvenience.

Which i did, against known and reputed player, some of them considered legend, such as, Mandarin, Ledger, Tiberias, Herishey, Hokej, Troister, Axiom, Evanovic, Stark, Eddie, Jammo, Bagins, Freddie, Python. I didn't had a good relationship with most of them, but i congratulate them for what they did, and i had pleasure facing them.
A large part of the reasoning behind the decision was that they were distracting and made the forums look unprofessional. If gifs were disbaled solely for the reason that they were or were close to breaking the forum rules, I might have considered your suggestion. As it were, we'd just be wasting someone's time.

What if you made it so that all .gif signatures had to be in spoilers? It would fix both the lag problem and the professionalism problem, as it becomes a user's own responsibility when he opens a spoiler, rather than that of the mods or fse staff. I agree though, .gif signatures were getting really annoying. However I do think they could be regulated with relative ease.
nice JPGs.
