I don't know what the others are called for other periods and stuff but As for my civil war reenacting, my shoe are called Brogans. Here's mine after that muddy eight mile of marching.

I have only used my brogans in one event so they look pretty clean as compared to yours xD

I used,  brogans for my NW stuff due to my feet being odd, but after braking 3-4 in a row on a tactical event and being called the "soulless man" i wear my school shoes which look ok under gaiters.
