A little note on your ranks.Well the ranking system I use was never meant to be 100% historically accurate. I knew 2nd Lieutenant was actually known as Ensign, but I was not aware that riflemen still used the colour sergeant rank. Good to know!
Whilst the 95th used the 2nd lieutenant and staff sergeant ranks the 5/60th which were like you a rifles battalion in a line regiment (from a historical perspectives even if this rifles battalion is fictional) and so retained the ranks of ensign and colour sergeant. Just an observation.

Siege is really fun for rankers most of the time, it's more difficult to coordinate for officers and NCO's than normal linebattles. Most of the time other officers or NCO's are just thrown in with rankers in normal linebattles, but in Siege they take on much more responsibility, making it more difficult for us, but its really fun.

To answer that question let's describe the experiences of a theoretical Newkirk as he begins his journey into a black hole. He begins far enough away from the black hole such that he is in no real danger at the moment. As he draws nearer to the hole, gradually, a larger and larger field of his view is consumed by perfect darkness, light that cannot escape the black hole does not reach his eyes. Looking behind the black hole, seeing galaxies light years away, these galaxies appear warped and distorted. they bend and twist around the hole itself as light is bent around one side of the singularity and to the other. At this point, if Newkirk looks to the side he will see the back of his own head as the light is bent around the circumference of the sphere back to Newkirk's eyes, never coming close enough to the point of no return to be drawn in. Conrad Parsons also observes Newkirk's approach but unlike Newkirk, he's smart enough to not jump into black holes. To Parsons, since time and space are relative to each other and the space is being warped around the hole, so too is time. To Parson's, Newkirk's descent into to the hole begins normally, but becomes slower and slower. Once Newkirk reaches the point of no return, the point where the gravitational pull is so great not even light can escape, he stops. The light off Newkirk's body from the later part of his journey never leaving the hole. To Parsons, Newkirk's body would stop, and become increasingly red-shifted until the image simply fades away. Back to Newkirk's point of view: nothing out of the ordinary happens as he crosses the point of no return. His entire view of the universe becomes progressively compressed into a sphere behind him, kinda like if he was clipping out of the universe. Newkirk is still hours away from the point where he will come to any actual harm though. Once he does though, as Newkirk draws closer to the center of the hole, the rate at which the gravitational force increases with proximity to the center of the whole increases. I ask the regiment's opinion on a Warband mod that is in development called L'Aigle. It was recently described to me as NW+++++++++. It has single player and multiplayer, and is a mod for Warband instead of NW so you don't need to pay the extra $10 to download it. 7+ factions with hundreds of customizable uniforms. I have also been informed that the 27th (Inniskilling) is going to be included in the default units for UK. The mod already has a strong following and growing. More information can be found here. Like you guys said events might be a problem at first but I'm sure that with all the support the mod has it'l get fixed in no time.

One thing I keep wondering Parsons is... exactly how would you die in a black hole? My guess is since it's a vacuum you turn to some kind of weird mush or something.
I'm glad you asked Newkirk. To answer that question let's describe the experiences of a theoretical Newkirk as he begins his journey into a black hole. He begins far enough away from the black hole such that he is in no real danger at the moment. As he draws nearer to the hole, gradually, a larger and larger field of his view is consumed by perfect darkness, light that cannot escape the black hole does not reach his eyes. Looking behind the black hole, seeing galaxies light years away, these galaxies appear warped and distorted. they bend and twist around the hole itself as light is bent around one side of the singularity and to the other. At this point, if Newkirk looks to the side he will see the back of his own head as the light is bent around the circumference of the sphere back to Newkirk's eyes, never coming close enough to the point of no return to be drawn in. Conrad Parsons also observes Newkirk's approach but unlike Newkirk, he's smart enough to not jump into black holes. To Parsons, since time and space are relative to each other and the space is being warped around the hole, so too is time. To Parson's, Newkirk's descent into to the hole begins normally, but becomes slower and slower. Once Newkirk reaches the point of no return, the point where the gravitational pull is so great not even light can escape, he stops. The light off Newkirk's body from the later part of his journey never leaving the hole. To Parsons, Newkirk's body would stop, and become increasingly red-shifted until the image simply fades away. Back to Newkirk's point of view: nothing out of the ordinary happens as he crosses the point of no return. His entire view of the universe becomes progressively compressed into a sphere behind him, kinda like if he was clipping out of the universe. Newkirk is still hours away from the point where he will come to any actual harm though. Once he does though, as Newkirk draws closer to the center of the hole, the rate at which the gravitational force increases with proximity to the center of the whole increases. Meaning the closer he gets, the more strongly his feet feel the gravity compared to his head. This will stretch his body, slowly at first but exponentially faster over time in a process know as spaghettification. Newkirk's molecules would be violently ripped apart from each other at this point and he would, will die. All of his parts would be separated from all of his other parts. Now at this point we're kind of sketchy on what happens to his molecules once they reach the center of the black hole but one of the leading theories (and my personal favorite) is that due to the distortion of space caused by the massive gravity of the hole they are deposited in a random spot in the universe due to a wormhole effect.

Who wants to go to the quietest room in the world? It's a room built out of a certain material and built with acoustics such that the walls and floors absorb sound rather than reflect it. There is no ambient noise at all, it is -9 decibels in there. No one has been able to stay in the room longer than 45 minutes because of the strange sensation of soundlessness. The only things you are aware of is your heart and your lungs and your ears, the tiny noises those make. I think it sounds like a ball. Every time I try to lift the monitor up, the more is breaks, so I'm afraid of ripping the entire laptop in half. I'm going to try to get it repaired but if not I'm going to have to wait until I get my new computer. (Which is near the end of the summer.) Yep, That's what I thought you meant.Firefly SpoilerI think it fit his character fine. Simon isn't a fighter but he did very little actual fighting during the scene. He came in with a plan to minimize the considerable risk he was willing to take on behalf of his sister. I don't mind so much that it disagrees with one spoken line in the first episode.[close]

I'm sorry! D: Also I went to remove the copyright stuff to find that after I rendered everything, 2 other clips went corrupt. Well, not corrupt but the clip goes black and the solution to fixing it is to save and close Sony Vegas. But I can't look at the original video because I deleted all the Fraps clips so I can't go back and change the copyrighted material or the black clips. But what I can do is go into the already rendered video that is in one big clip, and just snip it out. But still that means there's like, 2 parts in the video where it just goes black and all you hear is audio. (When Flavius takes on 5 guys is one, and the other is a part of a charge.) It really rustles my jimmies and I'm not going to use Sony Vegas again. >:( I'm going to switch to Adobe Premiere and see how that is. I probably didn't explain the best I could but I just woke up. This is frustrating.. :'(

(For those that don't know, Artemis is a star trek bridge simulator, your computer becomes your officer station and each ship has a separate helmsman, engineer, etc. all responsible for different roles on the ship.)
Cold Steel was telling me of a method of playing the game where we have numerous ships, but only the comm officers can talk between ships. I think it would be interesting to have this kind of thing in the regiment implementing separate teamspeak channels and whisper lists for the comm officers. Let me and Cold Steel know and we'll see what we can do about getting it off the ground.

We operate our skirmishers very differently in fact. We work in pairs of two, or pods as we call them. Each pair has a teamspeak whisper set up, and uses that to coordinate their shooting in terms of timing, location, and accuracy. The pods stick together in melee and watch out for each other. When forming, the pods form 5 paces apart, with 3 man spacing inside the pods. This has proven to be extremely effective since we started using it. As per your video, it's nice for some basic commands, but you need some more teamwork. I disapprove of your "mob" tactic, when moving, I think it should always be in some form of a line, looks a bit more orderly than a blob moving about the field. Other than that it's not bad. Our line uses something similar to your accordion, though we don't fall back into a column after firing. It's useful for forming a line to fire.

We find we rarely have the issue of people leaving, therefore leaving their partner podless. If your partner does die, you simply join the nearest pod, you lose your whisper capabilities, but you still have friends to cover your back. It may be a bit less complicated to form pairs on the fly as you mentioned, but then you lose a lot of your organization, as several people may try to pair up with one person, and confusion erupts because nobody really knows exactly who their buddy is. Also by forming on the fly you lose the ability to have a preset whisper key which proves much handier than you think. We teach our members coordinated shooting, which means one man fires while the other one holds his shot until about halfway through the reload so we can keep a good steady fire going or in case some unseen horseman happens to surprise us. They figure out the precise elevation and range at which to aim, and when possible cover each other in melee, though mostly that does turn into an "every man for himself" deal. When you have 6 different pods working at the same time it becomes impossible for the officer to coordinate it himself. It sounds like a lot but really it's not. Once you know and understand what you're doing it's actually quite simple.

I don't think the main concern for the US is Syria itself, it's Russia. This whole thing is putting us on edge with them, they've blocked the UN from intervening in Syria multiple times since the attacks, and Obama and Putin aren't necessarily the best of friends at the moment.

We started as a primary rifle regiment though instead of a combined like we are now, so the tags worked better then. I don't really want to speak for Newkirk about your application in particular since he and Cold Steel are the ones who make decisions. Regardless, I can say that it's more the sort of thing where when Newkirk feels he can safely add a new officer given the size of the regiment he goes and looks at the applications available. In a time where the regiment is static you're unlikely to get any sort of response. In addition, it's probably best to contact Newkirk about these things privately rather than on a public forum.

Well if I had anything to add, I would probably put (Inniskilling) in parenthesis, considering that's the official name, and I might try centering the text instead of having it at the bottom. The 27 on the pack is also backwards but I can live with that. ;D You could play around with the font and text color too if you wanted, and just kind of see what you come up with. That still looks really good though.

Really? Every one of them? Wow. I can feel that though, my grandpa brought a sword home from Japan when he was there during the Korean War, and we traced it back to a German company, but couldn't get the details because all the files had been destroyed during WWII by bombers.

It seems someone decided to play with the teamspeak roster a bit, making me take twenty minutes to match it up with the drive and get the count right. Total count is 48 members on active duty. The director of my department wants a demo of my Freescale car this weekend so that he can be sure I will adequately represent my college at the competition so all of my efforts have been focused there. Also while I'm on the topic, sorry for missing training last night, instead I was swearing at a little RC car for not being able to go faster than 15% motor speed without going completely drunk.
Again very sorry, I feel like I've kind of distant as of late but this has been probably my busiest semester ever with all the long-term projects and career planning I've been doing. It leaves me sort of drained at the end of the day.

I waited 45 minutes for them, had to run a taxi service after it was all over, got home about 11:30 sick as a dog. Fun night though.Who's that guy?Hey Gang.What an imposter. And today, while walking about my small rural town, I ran into this Guatemalan(?) named Carlos. Needless to say, we played basketball for 2 hours, making me late for tonight's training. And when I get in, the training is over. So I made up for it by finally fixing our Roster's ranks.

Well due to the occurrences of the past couple of days I have come out of my leave early to resume command of the regiment. All enlisted and staff ranks have been reset to their original standings and new NCOs have now been chosen. Though we regret the loss of several of our members we wish them the best of luck in their new paths, and I'm certain they will be successful in their new regiment. Godspeed gentlemen.Thanks Newkirk, It means alot coming from you. We wish you the best of luck and you're a really great leader and a good guy all around.

You have just about been my "father figure"(more literally than one would think) in the 27th, as I have strived to be like you, as you were my role model. I loved my time as a 27th, and I will never forget the long nights recruiting, just so I could get past Sharpshooter to Lance Corporal. I will definitely come back in my free time and play some games with you guys, it's a great community. I'd like to serve with Newkirk again, as the 27th has had a large impact on my life. Above all, the Inniskillings taught me respect. The 27th holds some of the best times of my life, albeit very slight to others. From August 2013, when I FINALLY got to Corporal rank, I teared up, as I thought the day would never come, and I will never forget my parents' reaction to me smiling like a goon at my computer screen, tears in my eyes. I would like to extend the biggest thanks to Newkirk, as we have had loads of great times, and I look forward to many more memories with the 27th, although I will not be as big a part as I used to be. I wish the 27th well on their future endeavors, and hopefully have the pleasure to serve under Newkirk again. Only time will tell.

Im glad your sticking with it Newkirk. I have twice had the nucleus of my regiment leave with the 1erVL in early NW which is now the 1erPLG and the 9y. The 32nd Sunday Linebattle (https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=5196.0) has a few open line infantry slots and I'd like to offer your regiment that position in case you may be interested. This line battle is a well known recurring event that's been on for years now, with solid rules, administration and class balance - all tailored towards realism and reenactment.
The battle server is EU-based, but acceptable for NA players as well, of whom there are plenty, myself included. The event starts every Sunday at 19:00 UK time (20:00 central EU), and contacting the administration at least half an hour in advance is appreciated. Just out of curiosity, why do you use 1st/2nd Lt instead of Ensign/LieutenantWell, about the best reason I can give is... that's the way (uh huh uh huh) we like it. We had a vote a few months ago to switch to that system and the staff decided they liked the Lieutenants better. Plus at the time we formed the regiment, as a rifle unit, those ranks would have been accurate. Just never changed that when we reformed to foot.

Are four hour biology classes common? I dont even like Biology.Could be worse, I had a 6 hour Circuit Theory class+lab my freshman year of college. Technically I could have taken the 4 hour lab section at a different time but I'd have to take it at 6am and that is just terrible.
