Historical Reenactment / Tips on the Art of Death
« on: March 27, 2013, 07:12:16 am »
Hello folk as many of you know one of the most important parts of reenacting is taking hits and dying. It has surprised me that little mention of this has been posted on this forum.

How do you die? Share tips and suggestion. I know myself and other would be interested and could benefit from it.

Clans / Confederacy of Independent Systems Naval Marine Corps (1stFKI)
« on: March 26, 2013, 10:16:14 pm »

OOM droid marine, mainly known as droid marine, were OOM specialized droids that were used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems naval forces. They were programmed with advanced combat tactics and were used aboard Confederate Navy vessels as guards along with security droids, but mainly they were used to board enemy vessels during combat. Their heads included chips that were uploaded with the schematics of the latest Republic Navy warships, so when they boarded they would know the weak points of the ship they were aboard as well as their locations

The droid marines were designed as part of the OOM-series battle droid project, an attempt by the CIS to built better, more intelligent droids. They were used heavily during the Clone Wars. Droid marines were more than a match for clone marines that the Galactic Republic used, and won many battles in the War. However, most were deactivated after the execution of the Separatist Council. Many Separatist holdouts used the droid marines as part of their fleets, but those were destroyed. Over the years, many were rediscovered and reactivated by the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire, though were rarely seen in combat. In later years, few were seen in service of the New Republic navy as backup forces, and rarely were seen in combat.

The Purpose of this event is to provide a simple classic linebattle experience. This is done through the use of only line infantry and flat medium sized maps. We hope to make the experience of this event fast paced and action packed rather than the drawn out ultra tactical gameplay of other events.

This event is strictly Invite only. I wish to have only a few Large, respected and Professional regiments rather than a multitude of regiments small and largely unknown ones.

I would also like to thank the 3e Regiment de Voltigeurs for allowing our administration to use their server for their event. Their server is hoster by Battlesaintz. You may rent a server by adding Nova Poison

Teamspeak : 74.91.116.171
Server : Classical_Events
Time : 8pm EST
(We hope to start at 8:20 at most.)

Due to Normal Line Infantry being the only class in use we have fairly simple Rules.

All Lines may only fire while in line. Firing any Muzzle loader outside of line is strictly prohibited.
If this problem consistently occurs even with warning expulsion from the event will be in order.

All Regiments must acct with respect and maturity. Being a Bafoon,Trolling, Spamming and
Tking at the end of rounds is very much frowned upon.

To receive the password for the linebattle hop into this teamspeak 15 minutes before the event starts.  74.91.116.171 . Go down to the Chanel titles "Classical Tuesday Event" in the 1stFKI channels

Historical Discussion / Old war portraits
« on: March 17, 2013, 08:01:14 am »
Back in many ways young men would get their portrait taken prior to going of to war. They would try to look tough and patriotic with the use of backround paintings or props. I have found these interesting and this one is definitly my favorite. Feel free to post any you think are cool or funny.

Historical Reenactment / Some questions Regarding Knapsacks.
« on: March 17, 2013, 07:16:04 am »
Hello folk. I since my last event finished my civil war kit by buying a knapsack and greatcoat. However I have come to find that by knapsack is mighty full with my Gum blanket, roll blanket and great coat. I have two questions.

A. Is there a specific way to possible folk the Great Coat so it does not make much space.
B. How do you roll your blanket so it is at the top of your knapsack. I have the proper straps but dont know thew way to fold/roll it.

Could you folk as well link some pictures of what it should all look like in the end? It would all be much apreciated.

Other Games / Next Generation of consoles.
« on: March 05, 2013, 12:23:59 am »
Next Generation of consoles. My choice is either ps4 or xbox 720.

I have ownded a 360 for the last couple years and was really into Halo 3. The party system was probably what kept me playing. was definitly fun playing call of duty and halo with buds from my school on it. However the ps4 seems like a better console when it comes to specs and such. Plus Bungie's new game will likelly be a launch title.

What do you gusy think of the new generation. What games are you looking forward to? Which one do you think you'll buy?

Historical Discussion / United States vs Great Britian? [Documentry]
« on: February 24, 2013, 08:55:24 am »
I recently watched a documentary about "Plan Red' which was a plan detailing what a war between Great Britian, Cannada and the United states would be like. Although I doubt it was ever taken really into consideration even though public opinion of both nations were varied. It however didnot really bring up alliances. I fleel France and even germany could definitely possible be combatants on the british side as well. It concludes that America could take Canada swiftly but with loss due to britian not being able to muster enough troops rapidly to the country however America and Britain combat on the high seas and result in stalemates and sporadic US and British Victories which would result in a ceasefire.

Definitely makes me happy that Britian and the United States have such a stronge alliance.

Regiments / The Prussian Army
« on: January 19, 2013, 02:43:38 am »

Regiments in the Army

1. Ostpreussiche Infanterie [1stEPI]
  • The 1st East Prussian Infantry Was formed in December 2010 for the purpose of accurately representing historic military structure and tactics of the Napoleonic Era, to the best of our ability, and in so doing, form a tight-knit, elite Regiment of well trained, disciplined, and virtuous soldiers. Among other Regiments, we are quite unique in a number of ways. We place great emphasis on practicing accurate military structure and tactics of the Napoleonic Era. Among our ranks will be found no self-proclaimed generals leading handfuls of privates, but rather meaningful structure based on the size of our unit. Furthermore, we are committed to developing and practicing tactics of the period (with regard to practicality and feasibility in the setting of MM), to a level unrivaled by any existing Regiment. For these purposes, we are looking for intelligent, humble, and mature recruits willing and able to listen, learn, and contribute.

1. Lützowsches Freikorps Infanterie Battalion [1stFKI]
  • Our goal is to provide a fun and entertaining Napoleonic Wars Line-Battle experience that will appeal to seasoned players and newcomers alike. We strive to reach a level of maturity and skill reached by few in the NA community by providing a host of skilled and active players.
We strive to be a disciplined regiment. This of course will not get in the way of having fun but we will need to maintain a moderate silence amongst rankers during battles.
A higher degree of discipline will lead to a more enjoyable training's which will lead to a increase in skill and performance in the field.

19. Infanterie-Regiment [19te]
  • We (veterans, newcomers, and casual players alike) have formed this regiment to create a respectful, fun, and entertaining environment in which players can enjoy while playing Mount and Blade: Napoleonic Wars. We enjoy the use of teamwork and tactics whether it be in a line battle or just casually on a server. We hope to create a meaningful rank structure (although not go overboard) and promote the use of more historical, line-like tactics while using our Artillery and Cavalry detachments to increase our effectiveness as an elite fighting force. Regiments were created for line battles, and we shall do our part to participate, compete, and have fun - respectfully.

13. Infanterie-Bataillon [13te]
  • The 13. Infanterie-Regiment was formed on 1 July, 1813. The regiment was formed from the 1st Musketeer (officer and NCO cadre) and 3rd Reserve battalions of the 1st East Prussian Infantry Regt (Nr 1), the 2nd East Prussian Reserve Musketeer Battalion and the 3rd Lithuanian Reserve Musketeer and 1st Lithuanian Reserve Fusilier battalions. It was titled 1st Reserve Infantry Regiment at this time and was considered to be an ad-hoc and temporary unit. With the reorganisation of the Prussian army in March 1815, the unit was made a part of the new regular army, taking the title 13th Infantry Regiment on 25 March 1815. The regiment was not officially granted the title "1. Westfälisches IR Nr 13" until 10 March 1823.

The Freikorps - Recruiting Cavalry and Light infantry [FK]
  • We are a Prussian regiment and we emphasise on a team effort and make a impact on the battlefield. We train on formations so that we can help eachother on the battlefield and get the best results. We also train our personal skills and I'm happy to say that most of our members can handle themselfs in combat.
Our emphasise is to support the line troops in battles, we have mixed training sessions with the Prussian army, as well as any other regiment that is friendly, respectable and level headed.

1. Pommersches Infanterie-Regiment [1tesPMRS]
  • This regiment was formed in early July, 2012, from a group of players within the community. We exist as a group of friends who like to play together and have fun in general, though that is not to say that we are not a serious regiment. We like to seek historical accuracy within the regiment, therefore we will maintain a serious air during events, including PTS (permission to speak) and various other precautions taken in order to ensure that the people of the regiment are as well disciplined as possible. Furthermore, activity is a high priority, and we must ensure that people within the regiment are as active as possible. Inactive players will be removed from the regiment. We have a Steam Group, here. If you wish to join the regiment you can apply below by filling out the application and posting it as a reply or by adding Kpt. Greenbeard on Steam.

1. Westfälischen Infanterie Regiment [1stWFI]
  •      We are the first platoon of the 1st Westphalian Infantry Regiment. Our goal is to create a large, authentic regiment consisting of multiple, independently managed platoons which operate as a single, cohesive battalion. Our passion is authenticity, and we endeavor to create a fun, mature, and welcoming community.
