Aide-de-camps had very specific uniforms, and well, those aren't it.

God Ed Parker is a nob.

"If you're British it's almost a necessity."
"We ARE that army."
"The British army is the be all end all of Napoleonic reenactment."

Fucking bollocks.

Damn the speech of the prussian nearly made me join the silesian landwehr

Yeah it's great to have a Prussian unit in the UK, keeps things more interesting, just wish they had more members.

It depends, most Aide de Camp had a specific uniform yes especially those from the Etat-Major, but a lot of them kept their previous uniform (hussars captain for Marbot or Garde Impériale lieutenant for Coignet) and only wore a blue armband (like this one ). Others as the famous Heymès (Ney's Aide de Camp) chose to compose their own uniform !

Right. But British reenacting generally sucks.

By 1809 (or maybe 1808 or earlier, but I think around '09) Napoleon ordered that only those officers who were Princes of the Empire were allowed to design their own staff-uniforms. Others had to follow regulations. Uniforms were rather practical aside from the blue or red trousers, meant to let the staff officers stand out to easily identify them. It's possible that officers coming from other regiments would keep their own uniforms for a while, but even then they would very likely have the armband (It was red, blue or white depending on the grade of the general), and of course the epaullettes which are a sign of rank.

I've set up the 21eme Regiment de Ligne's YouTube channel, I have a lot of ideas for the future with it. Already put up several videos from previous campaigns seasons. A lot of the videos give a great insight into what it's like in our unit.

For these our Adjutant Chef records parts of events of every campaign on his camcorder, don't know what kind it is but certainly not an up-to-date one as he's not great with technology, bit of a dinorsaur lol

As for the three I posted of this years events so far, I just found them on Youtube I have no idea who recorded them ;)
