Regiments / 1st US Infantry Regiment [EU/NA]
« on: October 18, 2014, 01:01:10 pm »

  History

In 1807, Captain Eli Brady Clemson set off to recruit his own company of the 1st United States Infantry Regiment. Most of the men he recruited hailed from Pennsylvania and New York, though his company included men from France, Ireland, and Prussia as well. Their first Muster was at Pittsburgh before ordered to Fort Belle Fontaine, Missouri Territory. By August 1808, Clemson's company were ordered to build one of two new "Factory Forts". His would be built on the Missouri River while the other would be built above St. Louis on the Mississippi River. The new fort was duly christened as Fort Osage in November 1808 by Captain Clemson as "a mark of respect to the Indian Nation for whom it was built". Remarkable that a US regular Infantry fort to be named for an Indian Nation.  The Fort Osage Garrison would receive word of the "War of 1812" near the end of July 1812. Clemson would be promoted to Major in 1812 in the 1st Infantry and serve as the Inspector General for General Benjamin Howard of the US forces west of the Mississippi in 1813. Clemson would eventually be promoted to Lt. Colonel of the 16th US.  Before his last promotion, however, he was able to influence Secretary of War John Armstrong, to order the three companies of the 1st Infantry stationed in the Illinois and Missouri territories, to the "Canada Line."

Regiments / 80th Regiment of Foot (Staffordshire Volunteers)
« on: October 10, 2014, 06:22:18 pm »

History

The 80th Regiment of Foot (Staffordshire Volunteers) was an infantry regiment of the British Army, created in 1793 and amalgamated into The South Staffordshire Regiment in 1881. Its lineage is continued today by the 3rd Battalion, Mercian Regiment.

In February 1793 the French Revolutionary Government declared war on Great Britain. The British Army was quickly expanded, with a number of new regiments of foot raised. The 80th Regiment of Foot was raised on 9 December 1793 by Lord Henry Paget. The regiment was largely recruited from the Staffordshire Militia and comprised men living on the estates of Paget's father, The Earl of Uxbridge.

Rules :
Now for the boring rules of the event.

1)As standard do not join either side and remain spectator at the beginning of the event untill the host (Random'e) tells you which side to choose, we will balance this event out as best as possible but if people join sides without permission or refuse to move, you may be kicked out.

2)Only 1 archer per legion / clan.

3)This also follows the same basis of only one legion/tribe on either side can go as horsemen, although the max horsemen on each team is 15 so pick wisely. Again failure to stand by these rules will end the same way as the other rules.

4)Most importantly TROLLING is not permitted at any time in the event. Team killing can only be seen suited ONCE the Host of the event (RANDOM'E) announced its end (GG). failure to stay to these rules by purposefully team killing will result in a instant kick/ban You have been warned.

5)  Rules and regulations about armor. Due to the unbalancing recently this is the armor rules. Tribe. Tribe members must wear either woad warpaint or the basic cloth shirt. for the exception of and only of the leader who can wear which ever armor he pleases. The noble sword can be used but the prevention of OP swing spamming would be good.

Legion. any legion member can hold any gladius. select shield to your legions leader request. all legionaire must wear the standard legionaire armour for the expection of the legion leader and the tribune, for helmet all member of the legion must wear the standard legionaire helmet. for the expection of cohort leaders, tribu and the praetorians etc who can wear the centurion or praetorian as their legion commander requests. although a max of these is 4, 2 centurions and 2 wearing praetorian helmets

6) Weapon rule. FOR ALL TRIBES, no one except the leader of each tribe can use the noble sword, anyone else that uses it will be BANNED, due to its Overpoweredness

7) Armor rule. FOR ALL TRIBES, No one except the leader of each tribe can wear the noble armor, due to Overpoweredness, also only 3 members in the ENTIRE tribe can wear any form of armor, this excludes the woads tunic armor, again due to its Overpowered ness

and as always respect your leaders. and host/'s of the event!

Now the rant of the rules are over I just want to wish everyone good luck to you all in the upcoming event whether your fighting beside us or fallen beneath us.

Regiments / 1te East Prussian Grenadier Battalion - [EU / NA] *W.I.P*
« on: July 26, 2014, 07:25:28 pm »

|1te East Prussian Grenadier Battalion|

History

Grenadiers are large, strong men, armed with muskets and a fearsome reputation, and yes 1teEPG are one of them.

All grenadiers regard themselves as elite, and occupy the place of honour at the right of the line on parade. They have good reason: only the largest, bravest men can become grenadiers; this size and strength makes them an impressive sight in a charge, and gives them an edge in melee. They are vulnerable when charged by heavy cavalry and when attacked by skirmishers. Those points aside, grenadiers are a proud group and they are dedicated soldiers who will follow orders to the letter.

Historically, the Prussian army went through a radical reorganisation following Napoleon’s downfall in 1814. In October of that year the six existing grenadier battalions became two regiments and, as a mark of respect, the King of Prussia named these regiments after his allies, Czar Alexander of Russia and Emperor Francis of Austria. The Kaiser Alexander Grenadier Regiment was formed of the 1st and 2nd East Prussian battalions and the Life; the Kaiser Franz regiment was formed of men from the Pomeranian, West Prussian and Silesian battalions.

Clans / Legio XIII Gemina [EU / NA] - Recruiting!
« on: May 19, 2014, 11:17:50 pm »

Legio XIII was levied by Julius Caesar in 57 BC, before marching against the Belgae, in one of his early interventions in intra-Gallic conflicts. During the Gallic Wars (58–51 BC), Legio XIII was present at the Battle against the Nervians, the Siege of Gergovia, and while not specifically mentioned in the sources, it is reasonable to assume that Legio XIII was also present for the Battle of Alesia.

After the end of the Gallic wars, the Roman Senate refused Caesar his second consulship, ordered him to give up his commands, and demanded he return to Rome to face prosecution. Forced to choose either the end of his political career, or civil war, Caesar brought Legio XIII across the Rubicon river and into Italy. The legion remained faithful to Caesar during the resulting civil war between Caesar and the conservative Optimates faction of the senate, whose legions were commanded by Pompey. Legio XIII was active throughout the entire war, fighting at Dyrrhachium (48 BC) and Pharsalus (48 BC). After the decisive victory over Pompey at Pharsalus, the legion was to be disbanded, and the legionaries "pensioned off" with the traditional land grants; however, the legion was recalled for the Battle of Thapsus (46 BC) and the final Battle of Munda (45 BC). After Munda, Caesar disbanded the legion, retired his veterans, and gave them farmland in Italy.
