50th Manifestosu:

1. Bu alay eski 49'uncu (Galler Prensesi Charlotte'ın) Piyade Alayı'nın lideri ve üyeleri tarafından kurulmuştur.
2. Yeni bir isim almamızın nedeni geleceğe doğru ilerlememizi, yeni bir başlangıç yapmamızı, hatalarımızdan ders çıkarıp onları tekrarlamamızı göstermek içindir.
3. Devam eden bir sayı almamızın nedeni ise yeni bir başlangıç yapsak da amnezi de geçirmemiş olmamızdır. Geçmişte bir takım olarak neler başardığımızı ve bize karşı yapılan hataları unutmadık.
5. Bu alayın asıl amacı Napolyon Savaşları'na formalizmi ve bilimsel metodu getirmektir.
6. Yalnızca Türk topluluğunda değil, Avrupa topluluğunda da en iyi alaylardan birisi olmayı amaçlıyoruz.
7. Eğlenceyi ve disiplini en iyi şekilde birleştireceğiz.

The Manifesto of 50th:

1. This regiment is formed by the leader of old 49th (Princess Charlotte of Wales's) Regiment of Foot and its members.
2. The reason why we took a new name is to show our advancement towards the future, make a fresh start, turn over a new leaf, learn from our past mistakes and not to repeat them.
3. The reason why we got an adjacent number is to show that even though we made a fresh start we didn't hava an amnesia either. We remember what we accomplished in the past as a team and we also remember the mistakes made against us.
5. The main aim of this regiment is to bring formalism and scientific method into Napoleonic Wars.
6. We aim not only to be one of the best regiment in the Turkish comunity but also in the European community.
7. We will combine fun and discipline in the best way.

TARİH

49’uncu (Galler Prensesi Charlotte’ın) (Hertfordshire) Piyade Alayı 1743 yılında İngiliz Ordusu’nda kurulan bir hat piyade alayıydı. Alay 1743’te Albay Edward Trelawney tarafından, sekiz bağımsız yerel bölükle Edward Trelawney’in Piyade Alayı ismiyle Jamaika’da kuruldu. Alay, 1775 yılının Haziran ayında Amerikan Devrim Savaşları’nda görev yapmak için Boston’a gitti. Brandywine’daki Amerikanlara yapılan İngiliz saldırısında alayın hafif birliğinin esir kabul etmemesi sonucunda Amerikanlar intikam istedi ve bunun sonucunda da alay kendileri yüzünden başkalarının acı çekmemesi için şapkalarına ayırt edici kırmızı tüyler yerleştirme kararı aldı. 1793’te alayın üyeleri Fransız Devrim Savaşları’nda görev yapmak üzere bahriyeli olarak yeniden atandı. Bahriyeli görevlerinden sonra alay 1802’de Kanada’ya yerleştirildi. Alay, 1812 Savaşı sırasında 1812’nin Ekim ayında yapılan Queenston Tepesi Savaşı’nda Tümgeneral Sör Isaac Brook’un komutasında görev yaptı. Alay, 1815’te Weymouth’ta Kraliyet koruma görevlerini üstlenmek üzere evine döndü. Alay’ın yeni kızıl ceketleri ve beyaz pantolonları Galler Prensesi Charlotte’ı öylesine etkiledi Prenses bu alayla bağdaştırılmak istedi. Bu doğrultuda alay 1816’da, 49’uncu (Galler Prensesi Charlotte’ın) (veya Hertfordshire’ın) Piyade Alayı ismini aldı.

Regiments / 49th (Princess Charlotte of Wales's) Regiment of Foot - DISBANDED

HISTORY

The 49th (Princess Charlotte of Wales's) (Hertfordshire) Regiment of Foot was a line infantry regiment of the British Army, raised in 1743. The regiment was raised in Jamaica by Colonel Edward Trelawney as Edward Trelawney's Regiment of Foot in 1743 from eight independent local companies. The regiment moved to Boston in June 1775 for service in the American Revolutionary War. It was following the British attack on the Americans at Brandywine, where the light company of the regiment took no prisoners and the Americans demanded vengeance, that the regiment decided to insert identifying red feathers in their shako helmets to prevent anyone else suffering on their account. In 1793 the members of the regiment were re-designated as marines for service in the French Revolutionary Wars.After losing its marine designation, the regiment was deployed to Canada in 1802. The regiment served under Major-General Sir Isaac Brock at the Battle of Queenston Heights in October 1812 during the War of 1812. The regiment returned home in 1815 to undertake Royal guarding duties at Weymouth. The regiment's new scarlet coats and white breeches so impressed Princess Charlotte of Wales that she asked to be associated with the regiment. The regiment accordingly became the 49th (Princess Charlotte of Wales's) (or the Hertfordshire) Regiment of Foot in 1816.
