A short footage taken this week end from the point of view of the soldiers looking for us in the woods. A 3-day march in the mountains with no modern stuff and a lot of ambushes ! I'm so tired but it was awesome.

Sounds knackering but a lot of fun! :D

April or May I expect, probably May. Like this year there was Cannon Hall at the start of this month and there will be another one at the end of the month on the second bank holiday. Usually there's a 3-4 week gap. Not 100% sure for events next year yet but I expect there will be 2 reenactments minimum in May since it has 2 bank holidays, might be additional ones like I think there's one this weekend coming up with the NA. It just depends how long you're in the UK I guess!

Went to a great event at Cannon Hall near Barnsley this bank holiday weekend just gone, hosted by the 33rd Regiment of Foot, in my opinion the best British unit in the UK. Here's some pictures:

Here's a nice one of the 21eme, would be perfect if we had the ladies of the regiment in it as well, as well as my face not being blocked by an officer's arm!

Daaaayum this topic ain't been used since after Waterloo!
Only fitting then that I share a great video from Waterloo 200 from the 21eme's perspective, including footage of battalion drill. I've got to say, our columns got there in the end.

4:33 for beautiful column :D

For a UK event Battle of the Nations (providing it's organisation doesn't cock up like this year) should be the biggest event here with probably every reenactment unit in the UK there and hopefully some units coming from Europe.

Still knackered after a brilliant weekend at Ickworth House for the first reenactment of the season. Saturday was wet and muddy but we still managed some great volleys.
Highlight of the event for me was on Sunday when we went on a sneaky march around the house and climbing down the wall to hide along it in order to attack the British flank, then getting to skirmish for a good bit before returning to the line. Quite happy I got to do a lot of skirmishing this event, me and Davout are skirmishing buddies.
I also surprisingly enjoyed being cannonfodder for Sunday's artillery demonstration. Mostly because I miraculously survived whilst almost everyone else in the column went down. I wasted no time in legging it away from the artillery with lots of laughs from the public :P
Fantastic weekend filled with laughs, banter and firing.

At some point I need to get me a new shako, the low visor of my current one is really bloody annoying.
